Saturdays game was a lot less blood boiling to watch on the whole.

Reiko needs to be done at starting centre for a bit, he has been awful for the Blues and offers very little to the AB's between his handling errors most games, his distribution errors and the lack of attack. His defense has been his saving grace but other centers offer a better all around package.  He had a period where I finally thought he had cracked the code, and was approaching one of the best centres in the world, but that has deteriorated massively.

Reece has copped flack for being careless in the air (and I agree), Clarke isn't much better and with 2 yellow cards, one of which could have cost us the match, it's taking away from what have been otherwise pretty strong games this year.

I don't believe it was a co-incidence that Dmac was benched and we looked overall a chunk better. We get less razzle with BB but other parts of the game seem to work better. Only one test to base that on, but it would be some co-incidence. For me he is a bench player at best.

TJP and Sam Cane, I half agree, TJP could stay home. IMO there is a decent gap between Cane and the next best option and his type of combative forwards play will be needed in Europe. Having said that, he isn't going to be here next year and we may need to adjust our game plan and not work around the lack of his type of player. Blackadder (if he can stay fit), Ardie and Sititi would be a combination I think could work.

Our Props and Hookers look pretty good. Decent depth there and I feel they are performing well.

Nice to see Jordan gliding, he is so freaking quick, glad to see him at close to full pace again.

Agree on set plays by Schmidt, some of it has looked very slick.

Northern Tour is going to be a tough few weeks I suspect, tough opponents, not quite there team. I'd love to see us beat Ireland at home, though it would be quite the achievement.

James O'Conner at the Crusaders, could work out, I doubt it will. That guy is troubled, and whilst it has been the making of some players to move to the Crusaders, I suspect it won't be a redemption story for JOC far away from his support structures. I guess we can be grateful it wasn't Beale.

Tasman defending the Shield was pretty cool to watch. I like Zarn Sullivan, but his judgement lately is pretty disappointing. He looked like he thought he was hard done by after being carded both times. I feel like that is the way players keep making mistakes is they don't think it's 'wrong'. Hopefully someone gets around him and helps me sort it out.

In all seriousness how would you suggest that Clarke avoid the yellow card he got last week?

All Blacks northern tour squad named

Forwards: Asafo Aumua, Codie Taylor, George Bell, Ethan De Groot, Tyrel Lomax, Fletcher Newell, Pasilio Tosi, Ofa Tu'ungafasi, Tamaiti Williams, Scott Barrett (captain), Tupou Vaa'i, Patrick Tuipulotu, Sam Darry, Ethan Blackadder, Sam Cane, Samipeni Finau, Luke Jacobson, Dalton Papali'i, Ardie Savea, Wallace Sititi

Backs: TJ Perenara, Cortez Ratima, Cam Roigard, Beauden Barrett, Damian McKenzie, Jordie Barrett, David Havili, Rieko Ioane, Anton Lienert-Brown, Billy Proctor, Caleb Clarke, Will Jordan, Ruben Love, Stephen Perofeta, Sevu Reece, Mark Tele'a

Pretty much what we all expected, I think?   If Reece didn't get dropped for his RC hit-outs then he was a shoe-in for the EOY tour.

He was pretty good in Wellington.

Roigard for Hotham seemed a fair decision as much as I'd have liked to see Hotham get on the Northern Tour, he can get some additional experience at the next level down.

Womens All Black 15 looked innovative on attack, but England blew them off the park. I had expected a bit more from NZ if I am honest, we made some awful errors.

England deserve their number 1 ranking.

He’s completely given up contesting high balls. He looks terrified to do anything at all once the ball goes up. If he starts up north he’ll probably face a steady diet of box kicks.

He has plenty of time to get that part of his game right before he faces the barrage, there were many other things that are good in his game. I'd remind you, he is hardly the only one struggling to take balls safely under the high ball.

Personally, I don't think there was much lost from the matches I watched when they trialled the no going into the air for a contest rule they tried. It's a hell of a lot safer and the outcome more predictable.

All Blacks XV squad out now.  No real surprises that I can see, except Ricatelli missing out.  He's not injured is he?  Strong looking squad with real focus on the future.  Some seriously tall timber with Holland and Lord.  I'm a big Josh Jacomb fan - for the future.  Not quite sure who their blindside and centre are.  It wouldn't surprise me if Proctor and maybe Finau drop back into this team for one or both or their games.

If you are going to trash the guy, at least have the class to spell his name right. Now back under your bridge.

Lol. Go have a lie down.

You can’t answer because you don’t have one.

Honestly more interested in how the All Blacks XV go. Realistically, if we wanted to hide behind the excuse that this was a 'rebuilding year' then a lot of these guys should have been given a run already.

Given how badly even the small group here have reacted to our losses, let alone the wider Rugby community, it strikes me as odd you'd have opted for even less experience.

I don't disagree with you overall, but I don't have the expectation we need to win every game, and am happy to take a longer term view. Most people, not so much. I am not saying I haven't felt frustration at the nature in which we have lost, but it's hardly all bad.
