With one less Crusader not now in the squad, *and* the two replacements not coming from the Crusaders, and the ever so hard done by (and most hated!) Hoskins only missing out on AB's recall because of an Injury (that he didn't sustain playing the Crusaders), I am unsure what you will find to complain about over the next week or so ;)

🤣

What a silly response to a bit of tongue in cheek commentary.

Who could tell? Any comment about anyone to do with the Crusaders gets the same thin skinned response.

As opposed to the balanced unbiased and well thought out commentary bitching and moaning about every decision since Robertson took over and every Crusader included in the ABs? And there hasn't been near constant needling either right?

Someone saying things you don't want to hear is the problem.

I'm done with this thread for a while, it's the same reason I left last year.

No-one likes hearing things they don't want to hear (duh). The problem isn't actually that, but that the things that are being said aren't balanced, and only address issues with players and coaches from a particular region. It's exhausting and suffocates meaningful discussion.

Cool, have fun!

You are not a member of the Crusaders or the All Blacks. If negative comments about an entertainment organisation exhaust you that’s a you problem.

You are certainly far from one who can claim any form of balance.

Go back across 625 pages and find someone who criticises their own team more than me. I have been all over Robertson for his unwillingness to address (until the last year) the discipline issues that plagued the Crusaders. I strongly dislike win at any cost tactics. I have forever said fans should temper their expectations of Robertson as he isn't as seasoned as some other options.

I am also fiercely proud of my team(s). I for example will concede that Reece's international season has been below his best work, but he had an incredible super rugby season and has been extremely good for the AB's on previous seasons. This should buy him some loyalty/leeway to get his game back to it's best.

Some of the Blues backs can only make some of those claims and have had a pretty average international season. Is that acknowledged by the Blues fans here? Hell no. Reiko had an awful super Rugby and one decent game for the AB's this year. He still makes school grade handling errors in most games, is it acknowledged? No, he should have a statue erected in his honour. He can do no wrong.

Blues have been below average for 15 years, have any Blues supporters said we need less Blues players in the AB's? Nope. Crusaders have a bad season, and page after page, complaints about the number of Crusaders players in the AB's.

I don't love having a discussion about the Crusaders and their faults, but so long as it's done in the context of looking at *all* teams and players under the *same* spotlight I'll cope.

Run away if you want, I'd rather you stay and have an *actual* discussion that isn't you just finding anything to complain about only because it's Crusaders related. For my part, I'll do my best to ignore what I feel is unfair criticism.

This is nonsense. There's been plenty of discussion about Tele'a and his form, as well as Clarke and Christie.

And it doesn't change the fact that none of them have had as many second chances as some of the poorly performing Crusaders, to which your consistent response is "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE BAD BLUES PLAYERS".

Form matters if you're a Blues player. I can live with that. I can't live with it being secondary or even irrelevant for some others.

Started by a Blues fan saying that those players aren't playing well? I'd struggle to recall a time where a Blues fan has even agreed, unless it was followed by 'BUT WHAT ABOUT THE BAD CRUSADERS PLAYERS!?'

You understand that you are 100% guilty of doing as well, right? As many second chances? There is plenty of history of the AB's showing patience with underperforming players, including for the Blues, exhibit A being Rieko Ioane. See my comment below about team make up.

That works in both directions. You are just as guilty of it. I don't (mostly) care if you want to criticise a player, so long as they are being held to a reasonable standard also applied to others.

One good season does not a good team make, nor does one bad season a bad team make. Just as well coaches take a longer term view otherwise underperforming Super Rugby teams over the last 15 years would not have had a look at higher honours.

I've never seen you advocate for less Blues players in an AB's side despite the woes of the Blues for the last long period, certainly not to the same level you have complained about Crusaders inclusion.

Teams are complex environments. You can't just glue any 23 good 'players' together and get a world class team. It was was a case of that, the Blues would have won plenty more titles.

Teams are comprised of a balance of skill, temperament, off field contributions, communications on and off the field, willingness to try new things, how they interact on and off the field with other players, potential, and a thousand other factors.

I've had conversations on a dozen occasions with parents who are upset because their kid didn't make a team, despite being the clearly most talented player present, because their attitude sucks, they are disruptive, or actually outrightly difficult to coach.

That doesn't even take into account issues like personality, confidence, acceptance of change/adaptability.

You just can't help yourself can you?

I post on geekzone for enjoyment and education. Discussing rugby with you hasn't brought me either for some time so I don't see the point in continuing to do so. If you want to characterise that "running away" to make yourself feel better have at it.

Feel better about what? See my first comment.

There isn't much discussing going on. It could be, I'd like it to be, but all parties need to make it possible.  I've said I'll have a crack at my side. Your choice entirely if you do your part.

I suggest we *both* put our big boy pants on and talk Rugby like mature adults, the rest of this nonsense won't be much fun for the rest of the group. It probably doesn't reflect well on either of us.

If not, I guess we will see you around sometime in the future perhaps.

Canterbury would have given me a bit more confidence a year or two back, on their ability to roll BOP this weekend, BOP probably didn't play to their potential last weekend, and Canterbury probably played as well as they have for the last two seasons, and without their AB's this weekend, I'll be pretty happy if they manage to make the final. We have the players, but our execution has been pretty inconsistent, esp on defence. I am hoping Pohepi getting more game time at 10, will help him for the Crusaders next year. Last year, even with the chopping and changing and disruption, he looked pretty inconsistent.

Wellington and Waikato, I think on season form you'd probably back Wellington, but they have had a pretty average season finish, and Waikato have finished strong. Neither winning would surprise me particularly.

Well that's one successful semi final result done and dusted.

Now for Wellington to get up over Waikato!
