Kingy: What an absolute rubbish game. Didn't realize this was an individual sport. So frustrating as a NZ fan. So many plays SHOULD'VE been finished off had it not been for individual players trying to go for glory. Credit to Namibia they did what they shouldn't have been able to do and score a try against us.
Savea is still out of form and now deserves to be dropped despite scoring a couple of tries. Slade was lost and quite rubbish (went off quite early so don't know if it was injury related). Not sold at all on either Perenara or TKB, they are miles behind Smith in all aspects.
SBW, Barrett, NMS and Cody Taylor all proved they can play so they're a few positives.
I know you shouldn't take too much away from this game, but this one and the last one have proven to me that NZ won't win this cup. In fact if we get Ireland in the quarters I won't be surprised to see us fall then.

networkn: I think we do have some big problems. Disagree about Slade. BB kicking is a problem from further out.
Our biggest two problems right now, is we are very poor under the high ball. Seriously. We have massive exposure here.
Secondly, Savea has lost his confidence. He had his worst game ever today. He gets the ball and runs straight regardless, doesn't see how much space he has and run inward if he is near the touchline. He reminds me of DC a few months back. The coaches need to take him aside and clear his head as they did with DC.
Our passes are also concerning me. They are passing fast which is good, but again not deep enough by possibly 1m and rush defense causes us to either take the tackles in a non defensive way which is making us get smashed (Leaving us exposed to the 7's and 6's from the opposing teams), or we are making marginal passes, which aren't going to hand frequently enough.
Our B team looked decidedly B and I agree about TKB/TJP they aren't a patch on AS. We have too many half backs trying to emulate AS, I actually think a slower passer like AE would give us something different on the field. I am not sure our up pace game is working for us as well as it should and I don't think we are setting a platform before going wide.
We easily should have put another 20 points on them. I am a little embarrassed. I suspect SH will be doing some very stern talking.
There was one try we fluffed I think was particularly bad. We had a massive overlap commentators were going on and on about how certain the try was and we didn't score it. Poor decision making not to pass one wider, in favour of trying for himself.
I don't know about this talk of peaking, I don't think we need to peak to put 80 points on Namibia.

Thing is, you can't have 23 players on form coming to start a match. Someone is guaranteed to be out of sorts. The coach gives a game plan, individual tasks, to counter the opposition. THe opposition does the same. If all they want to do is bomb our back 3, then we just need to cope. I agree, if all they want to do is bomb, then Dagg would be perfect. He can just take and kick it out. But there are other ways of playing. And I agree, usually when we take a bomb BS more often than not sends a bomb back somewhere at halfway. I think that's crazy in a knockout match.
