joker97: What are the odds we see Stephen Donald called up to the squad this time round?

Zero. They will call up Soponga if things get tight. I think they will be ok.

Slightly better than me being called up, but not much.

I hope the injuries to Nonu, Barrett and Slade aren't serious. Messam - meh.

I still haven't decided who I want to win on Sunday yet (Eng v Aus). Aus Win, England out (especially if Aus win by more than 7 and Eng do not get 4 tries). England win, and them somehow Wales beat both Fiji and Australia - Aus out. Would we as ABs fans rather see England or Australia further into the tournament?

For me it's England.

Me too. A bonus of playing England also is that Mr Barnes cannot referee it (although, I think he has had a good tournament so far).

Agreed. I also think we have a better chance of beating England. I think it would be bad for the tournament as the English are notoriously bad at coping with their team losing, and lose interest quite quickly.

I will take the approach of supporting the All Blacks and anyone playing Australia so England it is for me. Also visiting relations in England soon so they will kick me into the street if I do not. They have already booked me in for a mid winter swim for supporting Wales :)

Anyone can beat anyone.

I wasn't sure to laugh at a comedy match or be scared for when we actually play a test match.

Why we need to keep try and keep trying and try some more to play free flowing rugby against teams who try to slow and annoy and destroy momentum (AKA Highlanders) I don't know.

Worse, I don't know who was directing the free flowing rugby attempts. DC sure wasn't in control of anything.

Well, I thought it was a good game. Were the AB's poor as per the commentators, or is it that they weren't playing a minnow, they were playing a very good team who played very well?
Many of the minnows are well past minnow status now IMO. I just watched the GEO game. I could imagine that the guys in red could have been a top team that the other top team have to work hard. I couldn't really see the AB's were poor, I saw the other side take it to them, making it a dour game. Both sides ran the ball. I can see with another four years, the RWC is going to be a huge effort by whoever wins, as its not 8 teams plus a bunch of bunnies to make up the numbers. Last RWC some minnows stepped up, this year much so, in four years???

How so, or are you taking the p***?

I have to admit I've watched hardly any games this time round, but clarify

We created lots just too many handling errors kept them in the game. At the end of the day it doesn't matter how you win in a world cup.

Lots of basic things to improve upon for next week though.

20 Handling errors by the AB's is the problem. Yes Georgia played well. I have mentioned it every time they play, they are a contender with some money and more coaching resources. I find them a better team in a lot of respects than Argentina. They have a very outside chance for the quarters if everything else goes their way I understand.

Waisake Naholo, what a try from his second touch. Just goes to show in Steve we should trust. With injury I think we look exposed in the back. Imagine putting Vito at the wing, yes he is fast, but really?!

DC had a poor night with the boot (in fact I am extremely concerned for NZ in kicking in general for 2016). If we play Wales in the Final, we are in big trouble against Biggar, who I think has only missed 2 all tournament including 8 from the sideline. Our discipline would have to be completely perfect.

Same exact things from the week before. Steve Hansen looked PISSED. Aaron Smith was creating the pressure for a lot of it though, the AB's weren't in sync enough for him to play that pace. Probably 7 from 20 were created off trying to be too clever.

Yes credits to Georgia, but yes we had a s#it game. No it has no bearing on the later matches in terms of collective game play. It means anyone who plays anyone in the knockouts can beat anyone.

Not sure I'd declare it that bad. We still put 33 points on them, they are (GEO) in my opinion the most consistently physical side in the world cup so far.

We had a Bonus point within 22 minutes, a record I believe.

The All Blacks weren't very good with the ball yet again. It's a real problem now. Imo they desperately need to walk before they try to run - kick a bit of ball away and establish themselves before going to wide. They are trying to play a short passing game in the midfield instead of taking a couple of tackles and building momentum.

Carter really needs to be running more, it's still a bit shuffle shuffle instead of running onto the ball. When he runs he's dangerous, otherwise he's super predictable.

The line out is going really well and the scrum is ok, if we can kick some more goals and hold onto the ball we'll start smashing sides.
