Handle9: Naholo shouldn't play again in this tournament, it may have been a worth a punt taking him

Yeah lesson number 1. If someone isn't playing for 10 weeks and will get their first game 2 weeks into the world cup, leave them behind

joker97: Ridiculous!

Tonga should have been awarded a penalty try. Unfortunately that does come with a yellow card. Any other team would have gotten a penalty try. And if that wasn't funny enough he then stopped the game when Tonga was doing well and called half time.

Travesty.

PS let me add, it won't matter in the end anyway, coz it's the 46th minute and Tonga are tired. But they would feel so robbed!

Well they were lucky too, that the tackle on DC wasn't Red, and the other tackle, certainly the same if not worse than the Ben Smith tackle, wasn't yellow.

It's not often DC would request a Red Card, so I think he felt pretty unhappy. That easily could have been a season or career ending tackle.

There were some frightening tackles and the like in the CAN v ROM games too !

SH says they are holding back.

Holding back for what?
Its a shame. We should be playing our best all the time and breaking previous WC records along the way.

I pretty sure they are holding back... a lot.

Just watching the games, all they are doing is passing the ball to the outside, I cant remember seeing a player running lines back on an angle. They only time they change direction is at the breakdown, where they head back to the other side of the field.

They are giving away nothing on their attack, makes it hard for a team to prepare to defend against them.

100% Agree with this. They looked a LOT better against Tonga tonight, I am expecting good things this point onward.

DC looked good with the boot, bar his SHOCKER not finding touch!

Now it gets exciting.

Is it AB v France or Ireland, is it SA v Wales or Australia ...

THe top 3 most exciting matches so far, Eng-Wales, ENg-Aus, Wales-Aus.
Bring on the knockouts!

I'm wondering if SH was quietly hoping we were in a pool of death to get proper battle hardening. I guess we will find out when we know which team won at the end vs how they perform .... can't wait.

Na, South Africa v Japan has been the best game so far.

The way Wales failed to score a try against a 13 man Aussie side this morning, I can't see them beating South Africa. So Aussie now have the clearest run through to the final. The ABs will have to beat 3 top teams in 3 weeks to claim the trophy. I guess if they manage it they can truly claim to be world champions.

Just finished watching the replay of Samoa/Scotland. What an entertaining game! For a game that didn't really matter to me, I really enjoyed it. What RWC should be all about.

One could read it both ways.
E.g. Wales could learn from their mistake and do it different next time (France lost in pool and matched the ABs in the final- but that was due to AB playing 7 with one foot, fourth choice 10 and stage fright by the rest).

Australia could still be beaten if they have one bad game.

Right now everyone is on the same boat. ABs have not yet been tested by a top team.

South Africa has had their scare and should be smarter.

Bring them on!

To be fair that was equal parts rubbish Welsh Attack and Unbelievable defense by Australia. I don't believe Australia would have survived an AB's attack, nor a SA defense.

Whilst SA could tip us over, I don't get the feeling they will. I don't see France doing it either. I think Australia IS our biggest problem, and even on the last two weeks form, I don't see them able to do it.

I believe Folau should be cited for TWO separate yellow card able shoulder charges!

I also think Wales really should have had  penalty try so bad was their infringing on the line.

Last night I watched Namibia v Georgia. That was an outstanding game, in a lot of respects. Georgia were on attack almost the whole game and just kept bungling the pass which would have had them scored. First half was 49.35m long! Longest first half in Rugby history. Georgia did get through and as a result qualified for Japan 2019, but there was only 1 point in it.

Based on your confident predictions, we first have to get past Wales to even think of Australia.

That's why I said, this 15 vs 14/13 failure won't happen again. Everyone would have learnt from it. Perhaps lesson no 1 here is, take the 3 points, start over and still have 9 minutes of advantage.

I thought Craig Joubert favoured Wales heavily in some close calls (of giving and not giving penalties). Maybe he thought 13 men were better than a penalty try.
