ludez: Perenaras career with abs effecitvely over.Grant fox has stated that there was 3 places for halfbacks and unfortunately tkb is the 2nd choice now and that they are going to stick with him as they want a similiar player to smith.
This really bothers me

This doesn't make sense. If Grant Fox says there are three places for halfbacks and TJP is one of the three, how is his career over? Also how about injuries?

I derped i meant two places for halfback.
Of course given an injury happens he will replace them but as of right now hes not in the running at all in the abs coaching minds

Just because a player misses a game or a tournament doesn't mean that their career is over. Eg Liam Messam missed the last World Cup and has had a good all blacks career since.

I am very much looking forward to the morning now. I am probably most reassured by the concern we are showing about our form and the threat of the French. That is the perfect way to be going in rather than fully satisfied and over confident.

Can't wait for 8am now

I'm looking forward to an excellent game where both teams play to their best. ... I live in hope.

South Africa it is!

1. 2 words: Wayne Barnes - I don't get his interpretations of anything. It's like he's from a different planet
2. Wales - powerful but toothless
3. South Africa - thought didn't play well, but their 10 can kick and that was the difference keeping them alive until they pulled ahead with 4 mins left

Thats what bothers me this morning, and what bothered me a bit under 4 years ago in the final. A low scoring game where the kicker is all that matters. Kicking goals is part of the game, but when milking technical penalties, kicking away possession is key, that makes for a game where we can't express ourselves. SH wants more points awarded for tries, I agree with that. Or make penalties 2 points. make repeated penalties 4 points. Tries 6 conversion 3. make tries the MAIN thing

I digress, Its 7-35, hurry up 8am

blair003:
tdgeek: Scorelines gents?

Are we seeing a defensive kicking game, to reduce the chance of French tries and penalties?

My head says AB's by 20 points, maybe 13-33. If the French win it will be by 4 or less.

I think the best thing for us would be to grind out a close, ugly win in a tight game. If we beat them by 20 points it could make it a bit harder for us to improve the following week and everyone outside the camp will talk everything up, forgetting that whatever happens vs France won't matter in the next game should we get to the next game.

Now we can wait for the talking it up part.

Really pleased and impressed with how Moody played.

I think we saw why TKB is second choice halfback - he came on and the game still flowed with crisp, accurate passing.

Read on the high ball is still a bit of a worry though.

Now it's a matter of how you get back to earth and get up again for a massive game vs South Africa..

Great game. The French looked ok early on, once they got the ball, and discounting the charge down try which was just luck, they were in it. but they seemed to just lose heart and ideas. And that got worse as time went on. So while the AB's capitalised on loose French play, the ball skills were on display, great. It will also take the shine off SA and Oz plans.

Awesome game. I can see tkb did what the coaches wanted but didnt add anything that smith doesnt which is what worries me.In those tight games we need that xfactor

What we learnt confirmed today.

- The all blacks do not have a lack of depth under the high ball
- Kieran Read continues to make mistakes, clean drops, knock-ons etc.  whcih have now become standard for him.  Whats up with that?
- The depth from the bench not only compliments the starting 15, it accelerates this team while other teams are slowing down
- SBW has timed his run to perfection
- The bus is back
