Was watching US newsfeeds earlier today and am quite sure I recall a couple of them saying Trump mentioned that he had a call booked with the Chinese President overnight.

What's the betting that within the next 48 hours we see Trump announce some sort of trade dispute or minor sanctions against China?

LOL your reading CNN too

They did talk. China wants the rhetoric to stop, and fair enough. Trump urged not to escalate. "It said both leaders agreed North Korea must stop provocative behavior."

But what winds me up, is while Trump is a dick, the decades old issue is NK. They push it, then when threatened nations such as US and SK have ships doing exercises, thats tantamount to war. When they agree to pull back on nuclear, and don't, and get sanctions thats tantamount to war. Talks??? What a waste of time. And hell will freeze over before they get oil and food.

Commitment by both parties that NK will disarm, and US will leave. Then sign that

Coil:

Hi all,

Im interested to know who and why in a brief paragraph will be the next President.

Personally i have not done much research into the matter ........... Trump probably less of a threat, Just a loud mouthed idiot with money who will probably be a puppet. My money is on Trump, If he doesnt win there would be quite a bit of civil unrest

Well done COIL. This thread of threads has been a lot of fun, in amongst the serious and ridiculous. Less of a threat? I personally think you got that wrong! Oh so very, very wrong. Certainly the civil unrest part is correct.

I thought it would be a little fun to look back at the first two pages and have a little chuckle and think "If only we had been in the position to know then what we have witnessed over the past few months" ............

dickytim:
Hillary with 60% of the vote.
I am really hoping the ration of stupid hasn't turned too much to allow Donald to so blatantly push his racist and bigoted views and still get in.
Without invoking Godwin's law this happened a long time ago and the world needs to remember that.

Nope. The world forgot! We really did. But hey, we are starting to remember now. But, according to our Donald its all beautiful, nothing bigoted or racist here - The Wall, The Muslim (oops sorry too racist) The Travel Ban! Did somebody mention Godwins? Will it be overlooked in this thread of threads?

Oh yeah, lets move onto page 2 as Geekzone kicks into gear and we start to contemplate things a little further.

Sideface:

If Clinton wins, the Cold War will continue.

If Trump wins - Nuclear Winter (Trump will randomly insult one person too many).

Let's ignore Russia for now. Russia is not an issue. Russia will never be an issue. But grand prize has to go to Sideface for his comments. Nuclear concerns after only page two ("Geekzone" time) and coming up to 7 months real time?? Surely this has to be a record for any world leader (AND Geekzoner)?

And at the bottom of page two, Batman summed it up so well ........

Batman:

One of them could well be the last president, the first dictator.

Well, let's take our hats off to him. He is trying. He is really friggin' trying! Can I please buy the rights and turn this into a book? Please?

Keep it up guys, I love this thread. Oh by the way. Fred99 was a little slow to the party with a prediction to Hilary and Trump being trounced on page 5. He has certainly made up for it since though with his brilliant comments about the Donald. I don't think he is a bad loser though - just concerned. Keep it up guys I really do love this topic. Just hope we are all around to read it in another 7 months time.

Pumpedd: I am sure the Americans will be heartened by your advice.

Did you read the article? It's not my advice, it's a detailed engineering analysis of the missile and it's payload by a physicist and two aerospace engineers whose whole careers have been spent analysing missiles.

Ex-Auckland Rugby rep player chases a car that drove at high speed into anti-racist crowd - one killed, 34 injured:

MSN: Chris Mahony, an Auckland-born adviser for the World Bank in Washington DC, said he noticed a grey sports car suspiciously stopped a small distance away from a group of people protesting the white supremacists on Saturday in Charlottesville, Virginia. "I thought that was a bit strange," Mr Mahony, 36, told CNN. "Of course moments later we heard a car going incredibly fast down the road and saw it plough into the crowd."

Trump tweets condemning the 'violence on all sides'.

Trump is an idiot. He lets Nazi March go through without a peep. These are troubling times. He enables them. They are not Alt-right, they are nazis, racists, bigots. And he is one of them.

Lock him up!

So when will martial law be 'reluctantly' declared for the sake of security and then the Constitution 'temporarily' suspended and of course the current administration will have to remain in office indefinitely until the chaos and instability are dealt with?

The alt-right are nazis, racists, bigots.

The alt-right, or alternative right, is a loosely defined group of people with far-right ideologies who reject mainstream conservatism in favor of white nationalism, principally in the United States, but also to a lesser degree in Canada and Europe.

The Virginia Governor does what Trump will not do. The Virginia Governor condemns white supremacists and nazis and tells them they are not patriots: (@ :54)

Trump as usual will not condemn his most fervent supporters and many of his campaign workers.

Its all nothing new....racism is as old as civilisation is and will never be removed. It can and should be controlled/legislated but will always be present. What is new is social media and the real media feeding the frenzy on top of an insane POTUS.

They're a few light years away from martial law at the moment. If this sort of thing spreads across a great part of the country then martial law will become more likely but right now, just like the thought of Trump being impeached, ain't gonna happen.
