The Washington Post - Mueller offers to delay testimony one week to give lawmakers more time for questions

July 12 at 12:00 PM

Former special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is offering to postpone his congressional testimony by one week to give lawmakers more time to question him about his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible obstruction of justice by President Trump.

Mueller is scheduled to testify before the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees on Wednesday [July 17] in a much-anticipated public appearance since he gave a short statement following the conclusion of his nearly two-year investigation.

Mueller is perhaps the one person lawmakers and the nation have been wanting to hear from the most. ...

Many members of the Judiciary Committee are concerned that two hours is insufficient time to discuss even half of the 10 areas of potential obstruction of justice by Trump identified in the Mueller report. ...

Impeachment proponents hope Mueller’s testimony will increase public support for ousting the president.

At the very least, his testimony is certain to provide the headline-grabbing, made-for-cable-television testimony that Democrats have been seeking since the 448-page redacted report was released April 18. ...

EDIT

The New York Times - House Democrats Postpone Mueller Testimony by One Week

July 12, 2019

WASHINGTON — House Democrats said late Friday that they would postpone until July 24 two hearings with Robert S. Mueller III, which had been scheduled to take place next week, to allow for expanded questioning of the former special counsel.

I have been half-watching MSNBC while working on some stuff. Even now I can hardly believe some of the things I seem to be seeing. Apparently Trump’s tax records that he is fighting to keep secret contain evidence that can prove fraud. Now his latest high-powered attorney has just astonished a Federal appeal judge by trying to argue that Congress has no oversight power on the president regardless of what the president does, however illegal. In the meantime, Trump’s Labour secretary has been forced to resign today over the paedophile scandal, while the paedophile himself has now been revealed to have been trying to intimidate and bribe witnesses against him, having just thrown another $350,000 at it. He sounds like a really nasty piece of work, who probably would not be above hiring hit men if he thought he could get away with it. This is the person Trump has described as a ‘terrific guy’. And Pence just visited an immigrant detention centre with a reporter, but left after 90 seconds because the stench of the men crammed together under North Korean conditions with no facilities was so bad. And now there is talk that Dan Coates might be replaced as National Intelligence Director by a rabid nut case who believes in deep state conspiracy theories and wants to bring back McCarthyism.

This administration is so corrupt it defies belief. I seriously wonder if it can still be turned around. I think it is a coup in all but name, especially now that the hand-picked Supreme Court has approved even the most extreme forms of gerrymandering. Americans have lost their democracy and they don’t even know it yet.

I have always wondered how ordinary Romans must have felt when they saw Nero fiddling. Or when Caligula appointed his horse Consul. Or what regular Germans thought when Hitler was made Chancellor. Now I know.

The New York Times - Alexander Acosta Won’t Be the Last Trump Official to Resign

By The Editorial Board

The editorial board represents the opinions of the board, its editor and the publisher. It is separate from the newsroom and the Op-Ed section.

July 12, 2019

[Trump's] administration has proved exceptional - in its instability, its swampiness and its turnover at the top. Keeping track of just the top-tier departures requires an advanced knowledge of spreadsheets. ...

Counting interim leaders, there have been seven communications chiefs; four heads each of the Departments of Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs and Health and Human Services; four national security advisers; three secretaries of defense; and three press secretaries.

The Brookings Institution puts the turnover in Mr. Trump’s “A Team” - defined as top decision makers within the executive office of the president (which does not include cabinet secretaries) - at 74 percent as of Monday.

No other modern administration came even close to that. ...

The New York Times - Trump’s Ominous Attempt to Redefine Human Rights

July 12, 2019

For the Trump administration to establish a “Commission on Unalienable Rights” to examine the meaning of human rights, as it did this month, is a little like Saudi Arabia forming a commission on multiparty democracy or North Korea a commission on how to end famine.

It would be hilarious if it weren’t so ominous.

Announcing the composition of the new body, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the administration “takes seriously the founders’ ideas of individual liberty and constitutional government.

He did so in the same week as President Trump demonstrated, once again, his contempt for the Constitution by tweeting that he’d leave office “in six years, or maybe 10 or 14 (just kidding).”...

Trump Threatens Legal Action Against “G.I. Jerk” Action Figure

Venice, CA (eTruePolitics) – “This is very hurtful to me personally,” said current president Donald  Trump after being shown a parody Trump action figure toy which online retailers report is enjoying brisk sales. According to Tom Arnold, part owner of “G.I. Jerk,” the action figure  will soon be available in a Russian version.

“We think ‘G.I. Jerk’ will become a valuable collectible, starting on November 3,  2020,” Arnold told eTruePolitics.

geekIT: Trump Threatens Legal Action Against “G.I. Jerk” Action Figure

He's missing super realistic the multi action button in his back

1) release Trump's bone-spur from his feet

2) drops rifle

3) a doctor's note pops up from chest pocket

4) realistic bowel movements

5) scream for daddy's help

6) cries

BBC News - New leak claims Trump scrapped Iran nuclear deal 'to spite Obama'

BREAKING

Donald Trump abandoned the Iran nuclear deal to spite Barack Obama, according to a leaked memo written by the UK's former ambassador to the US.

Sir Kim Darroch described the move as an act of "diplomatic vandalism", according to the Mail on Sunday.

The latest leak came despite the Met Police warning against publication.

The first memos criticising Trump's administration, which emerged a week ago, prompted a furious reaction from the US president and resulted in Sir Kim resigning from his role.

The Mail On Sunday - Trump axed Iran deal to spite Obama

In an explosive diplomatic cable sent to London [in 2018], Sir Kim Darroch, Britain’s Ambassador to the US, lamented that Mr Trump’s Administration ‘is set upon an act of diplomatic vandalism’.

In a blunt assessment, Sir Kim wrote that Mr Trump appeared to be abandoning the Iran nuclear deal for ‘personality reasons’ – because it had been agreed by his predecessor Barack Obama.

Suddenly the Trump madness makes sense.
