Does anyone have example of Suzi making a personal shot on Judith Collins to warrant being directly attacked in such a manner ?
Its the old Slater like behavior that seems to be deep in National in Auckland.
They seem to make a circus of their own candidate selections, taking anonymous shots on radio at their own.

Then we had the whole misuse of position on Helicopter trust, it was not that persons first rodeo, just first time they got caught ?
They even mentioned afterwards they were stepping back from politics due to toxic relationship they developed with it.
I wonder if the internal nutcasery is what drove Todd Muller to call leadership quits.

How can you develop great policy platforms if you spend so much time on carping and dirty tricks ?
We do need them to get back to Policy basics, rather than a Trumpish bluster and insults.

Yep its quite a read, all the way back to Muldoon, that is no doubt only the ripples on top of the pond.
She sure could write a very interesting tell all inside story of last few decades of Politics. If only !

A new poll has National at a devastating 21.3 per cent and ACT just behind it at 14.9 per cent.

The poll was commissioned by right-wing lobby group the Taxpayers Union and carried out by National’s old private pollster Curia.

It was carried out between September 5 and September 9 and publicly released on Wednesday.

Michelle Boag?

I really miss her appearances on Radio NZ "The Panel".

Her lack of any ability to discern truth from fact - I assume because she really wasn't very bright - then confidently (and loudly) double down on the mistruth when hard evidence was put in front of her was remarkable.  Pure Dunning-Kruger.

"We're acting as if this has never happened before. We've got to remember, this is Covid-19! Presumably there's been 18 other coronaviruses, on the way to get to 19!"

Unbelievably, that was not said as a joke or sarcastically.  Perhaps Radio NZ should be flogged for the idea of putting someone so daft on a current affairs discussion panel.

Oh my... Collins and National must see what they've been doing isn't working? So why have they doubled down on the stuff that doesn't work? The "natural party of government" folks...

I'm genuinely surprised ACT are so high. My perception of David Seymour is he's a bit average (has his strengths, but not strong all round - although far better than many of the Nats) and the rest of ACT's caucus is pretty weak with the exception of Brooke van Velden. Is this just a case of these people would vote for National, but can't because they're so awful, and these people refuse to vote for a party of the left? Or is there something about ACT I'm missing?

Assuming that ACT retain the kind of polling they do now, they're presumably going to have to come up with policies before the election.

While many of us begrudge "tax as theft", many also seem to value public health, public education, public roads, and tend to not be great fans of laissez faire deregulation of "everything", shoot to kill property enforcement, selling off every remaining government asset to foreign owners, the whole country running on the Wilson's Parking model - rent-seeking economics.

The funny thing is, that survey was taken out by that Taxpayers Union bunch of clowns (especially that Jordan jerk) and it still finds National rating poorly - and those clown love National and everything about them!

It has to be that. Its still a conservative vote, and it can still win a conservative election. The bigger issue is that combined, its only 35% of the poll. So the other 15% of those that can win a National/ACT election, have left.

At the last election Seymour latched on to a couple of vote winning issues, gun laws and end of life legislation, both of which boosted ACT's share of the vote.

He'll need to come up with something similar or their vote will slip back to more historic levels.

Where those lost votes will go is anybodies guess. I imagine a lot of them will just stay at home.

Commissioned by them but run by Curia, who seem to be fairly well respected a polling company.

Still, politically aligned with National.

Which makes it even more damning, IMO.

I wouldn't go as far as calling them or anything connected with them as respected. But they used to be National's choice for running polls. But I think they lost that contract last election so Maybe Farrar isn't happy with Collins either.
