Matthew Hooton thinks it's Christopher Luxon's time to step up - but I still don't know what, if anything, he has done in Parliament yet. Are they friends or something?

Clean slate and no baggage possibly?
MileHighKiwi: In September the gap between National/ACT vs Labour/Green was 19.2%. Last month it was 12.1%. The gap is now 5.8% according to Curia's latest poll.
National need to time their change in leader well. Right now the momentum is with the centre right and Judith bless her soul making way for.......could be just the bump they need.
I think the momentum was on fixing Covid, so if you do (and its never been done) then you win, if you dont (which is where other countries have gone and we are as well) you lose. Its that simple. Add to that people are over lockdowns, so anything that allows free travel by the virus as well as the people will be voted for

Add in Water also. Don't under estimate what effect that would have had.
I dunno about "getting up" - aren't their numbers dropping? I even read this morning that Simon Bridges could take over the reins again.
Keep calm, and carry on posting.

This is nothing do with inappropriate comments and everything to do with heading off a leadership challenge.
Expect fireworks today.
What will happen now? They're going to implode?
Could this be Simon Bridges V2.0?

Truly despicable for Collins to dig up a harassment case for her own political gain. Its bizarre that she always seems to be the only one in the room who can't see how transparent she is, kinda like the church fiasco.
I can't see her hanging on to the leadership, but I can't see who will replace her either, there is no win/win situation here.
Their caucus meeting started at 9, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that one.
What I don't get is Bridges has already apologised. Yes, he said something ridiculously stupid and offensive - but then-deputy leader Bill English spoke to Simon and he apologised. Also this was 5 years ago, did this MP re-complain or something?
I wonder if Judith is trying everything she can from her box of tricks to hang onto the leadership.
