CCP has had their one night stand and done their thing

on departure declaring CCP and Kremlin are going to be causing changes to the planet that have “not been seen in 100 years”.

presumably missions of conquest or toppling of the USA, or both

Uhh... it wasn't an attempt to do that, just pointing to historical precedent. Learning from history and all that.

You're wrong. The FUD is wrong. Xi did not mention the planet or world at all.

Xi maybe being coy not to remind Muscovy about what happened 750 years ago !
Muscovy and what we mostly call Russia came under the Mongol-Tatar yoke.
A vassal state, paying tribute.
No wonder he was smiling.

So Xi gets discount Gas, Coal, Oil (probably a bigger discount than India cos we are special), minerals, grain and whatever else it needs.

Putin just agreed to trade in Yuan boosting China's program to make Yuan a global standard to compete with USD.
The dream of the Ruble becoming this somewhat deflated.
I hear Xi has commissioned some new maps.
Another nine-dash line coming?

Meanwhile in Africa...

China Sends Military Drones to DRC Amid Fears of Regional War
The DRC has purchased Chinese attack drones, raising concerns about China’s role in exacerbating the DRC-Rwanda conflict.

Oh Wagner were moving into DRC as well, and have their Gold Mine in Central African Republic.

It's worth noting recent conflicts in the DRC have displaced 5.8 million people. The elected government DRC after the first peaceful transfer of power in 60 years is clearly in a very difficult position. That's clearly offtopic. There is nothing stopping you creating a new topic if that's something you want to discuss.

How Mysterious Explosions In Bulgaria Are Connected To Russia's War In Ukraine
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ileYB42X7c

""
A string of mysterious explosions and a poisoning have targeted Bulgaria's arms industry, which has been a crucial supplier of weapons to Ukraine.

But amid mounting evidence of Russian involvement, critics accuse Bulgarian authorities of dragging their feet in their investigations of these unsolved blasts.

A new @svobodna-evropa documentary looks into evidence of Russian sabotage, claims that there have been cover-ups by Bulgarian authorities, and whether Bulgarian arms depots are still at risk as Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine enters a second year.
""

In this Bellingcat have connected a couple of Russian agents from same unit that executed the Scripal poisoning in Bulgaria when owner of one of the Bulgarian arms companies was poisoned.

I'm guessing that Bulgaria's poor infrastructure, high levels of corruption, and its lack of economic opportunities for engineers/ techies means their arms might be not be great.

Bulgaria has had a hard time, and one can say Russia influence over the years has kept it in the balance.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021%E2%80%932023_Bulgarian_political_crisis

""
The 2021–2023 Bulgarian political crisis is an unresolved period of instability in Bulgaria, which has seen the country face five elections over two years: April 2021, July 2021, November 2021, October 2022 and April 2023.
""

Having 100's thousands of Refugees pass through Bulgaria, and accommodating upwards of 80K on a long-term basis, with a very fragile economy. Political situation just adds more pressure.

Making bullets and shells, especially soviet style, is pretty old mature technology, so more a case of having people willing to take on what can be dangerous work.
Dangers increased with Russian agents looking to blow up your workplace.

Meanwhile in Norway

Weapons firm says it can't meet soaring demand for artillery shells because a TikTok data center is eating all the electricity
https://www.businessinsider.com/ammo-company-short-on-electricity-blames-tiktok-cat-videos-2023-3

""
"We are concerned because we see our future growth is challenged by the storage of cat videos," Morten Brandtzæg, the CEO of Nammo, said in an interview with the Financial Times.
""
Brandtzæg said that he had considered whether it was a coincidence that Chinese-owned TikTok was impeding the expansion of an arms company.

"I will not rule out that it's not by pure coincidence that this activity is close to a defence company," he said. "I can't rule it out."

Watched Duck Soup recently and their national anthem seemed somewhat appropriate for Russia:

If any form of pleasure is exhibited,

Report to me and it will be prohibited.

I'll put my foot down; So shall it be

This is the land of the free.

The last man nearly ruined this place,

He didn't know what to do with it.

If you think this country's bad off now,

Just wait 'till I get through with it.

The treasury is low on dough;

The last man went and flew with it.

If you think we're short of money now

Just wait 'till I get through with it.

The country's taxes must be fixed,

And I know what to do with it,

If you think you're paying too much now,

Just wait 'till I get through with it.

(Dignitary:)

In our midst you stand The ruler of this land,

A man who'll govern with an iron hand.

If anyone gets fresh with me,

I'll show him who's the boss;

I'll stand upon my dignity,

and toss him for a loss.

And this will be the penalty,

For those who doublecross,

We'll stand 'em up against the wall,

and Pop goes the Weasel!

(Ensemble:)

If you should make him cross,

He'll toss you for a loss.

If anyone gets fresh with him,

He'll show him who's the boss.

I will not stand for anything,

That's crooked or unfair;

I'm strictly on the up and up,

So everyone beware.

If anyone's caught taking graft,

And I don't get my share,

We'll stand 'em up against the wall,

And pop goes the weasel!

(Ensemble:)

So everyone beware,

Who's crooked or unfair;

No one must take a bit of graft,

Unless he gets his share.

The only change needed is that "Pop goes the weasel" needs to be "Crack goes the window".
