My friendly local Vodafone retailer told me that the shops have been told that the Vodafone will start stocking the N97 Mini at last. He thinks it will be in the next month or so - and priced around the $999 mark.

I seriously considered getting this phone before I got my Nokia E72 - but right now I love my E72 to bits and I cant live without it. In a strange twist of fate - Vodafone no longer sell the E72 - I wonder why.

Though I might be tempted if Vodafone stocks the 18 carat gold plated version I saw on the Nokia web site:

It's really not that flash a phone for VF to be shouting about,'s an enhanced 5800, really.

Apart from video calling and stylus based input, N97Mini is higher spec than the 5800 (which I also like - my wife has one - I often steal it from her when I go to the gym).

N97 Mini has a better camera and optics compared to 5800 for example.

Phew - for a second I thought someone from Vodafone hacked into Geekzone and removed the original post for leaking the info prematurely

nah, wait just a little while for the Nokia N8 which has just been announced

at this price: 370.00 EUR = 676.211 NZD it will be better than the N97 Mini in everyway (unless you really want the whole so called "mini" thing)

Good news in the fact that it comes pre bundled with a Navigation pack inbox. This includes a suction mount holder and a car charger. :)
