I have a small bug or mite moving around in my TV, I first noticed it 2 days ago when the TV has a white back ground watching youtube and using a browser,

but know it is noticeable all the time watching Tv, you can see it scampering around as a shadow in the screen.

I thought LED-LCD screens where sealed, obviously not, I can see it right now sitting in the top right corner of the screen.

Has anyone else had this and I hope it finds its way out soon or dies, TV is still under warranty, don't know if covered for bugs finding their way into the screen.

Can see this as being a big problem with the direct LED backlit TVs going fowards.

Perhaps stick a vacuum cleaner against the vents nearby and hope it gets sucked into it?

Here's my little friend, does not look much in a still photo, but it's a different story watching it scamper around.

Will ring Konka tomorrow as still under warranty, if no luck then if its not gone in a week or two, will try a bug bomb to kill it.

Is the TV brand new?
In which case has the bug perhaps come in from overseas with the TV?
If that's the case call customs - it could be something they need to know about....

No, it's about 10 months old, started a few days ago, thanks anyway.

Fly spray through the vents?  They don't live long anyway depending on what it is, give it a few weeks and hopefully it dies somewhere other than in the middle of the screen.

Bag the whole TV with some of these?

http://www.ebay.in/itm/Nuvan-ProStrips-Vapor-Pest-Control-SMALL-size-QTY-12-/120717681460

must admit I've not tried this - but this is one of the common suggestions from google. That shadow in your picture looks quite large and annoying!

10 months = warranty. Talk to your retailer, they'll deal with it. Don't bother doing anything yourself.

Warranty will exclude infestations. Dont waste your time with that, they will only say no and possibly charge you an inspection fee.

I think its a small mite and the shadow from the back light makes it look bigger.

I might go and talk to the retailer, I know how to pull laptops to bits and put back together, but don't know anything about TV's and won't touch it.

I can't find my warranty details and their web site is a joke, I don't really know how D-LED are made other than a quick google about it, but one would think they would be sealed or something to stop this from happening.

Seriously - http://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/garden_centre/plant_health_pest_control/kiwicare_no_bugs_bug_bomb_210ml_138303/
Close the room up - set the bug bomb off - leave the house for half a day or whatever.
It should be nuked by then.

Wouldnt spray directly into the TV - but doing the room should probably sort it.

Surely any attempt to kill the mite will result in it dying inside the panel and you having a permanent mark?
