A little while ago I saw a 60gt in Noel leeming outlet botany for just over $2500, which I thought was quite a lot.

The 55vt at Manukau sounds tempting. Did you get a price?

It may be in this market. But its still one of the best 60" TVs you can buy.
I couldn't sell mine on trademe last year for $2100 (listed for several months). My folks have it now and its still superb. Just not quite as superb as the 65" VT60.

mattwnz:  The benefits of LED/LCD is they use less power, and potentially they should last longer. D

The TV may use less power but it's cancelled out by having to turn the heater on to heat the room.

I've got an issue with my poor Pioneer Plasma now where some surface delamination occurred when I last cleaned it. It seems it's a problem with the coating on this panel breaking down with the heat due to age. I've got a patch off now which at least isn't noticeable when watching TV but now I'm too scared to clean it!

Which is fine as long as everyone is too scared to get it dirty!

Have a 65VT50 in bedroom and 65VT60 in lounge. I was one of those scrambled to get them as stocks ran out. Absolutely do not regret the money spent a year later. The picture is incredible on both but particularly the VT60 which so many people comment on when we have movie nights. Ok so less people get to see the one on one wall of the bedroom (wink) but sport late at night is very very nice to watch :D
