Does anyone know whether samsung are going to introduce another one of these white lcd's. NZ had a white 32 inch tv for sale last year, in Europe and Russia they have/had 23, 27 and 32 inch models in white. I am looking at getting one for my bedroom and thought the samsung in white would look really stylish. I have found one still available at LV martin in Lower Hutt, but they want $1799 for it which is a little out of my price range. Are there any others around in NZ for less? Uniden have also got white lcds but they just don't look right, they are too bulky.

Maybe I just have to wait till one comes up on trademe for sale...

I personally dont like LCD panel displays, however the Unidens at DSE are on a runout sale, the 27" for around $700 and the 32" for $998 and are available in White and Black.

Done some more surfing on the net and as I have rellies coming in the next week from Holland I wonder if this tv is any good to use in NZ. Here is the link http://www.samsung.com/nl/products/tv/lcdtv/le23r81w.asp?page=Specifications

I don't see why it shouldn't work, but then I am not an expert. It doesn't state what tuning system etc it uses, but I only want to connect it to my dvd recorder via HDMI. Also does anyone know whether it would be safe to transport via the airplane, I have seen some people take them on the plane from Sydney, but that is only one flight. Not sure if I can specify insurance for it...
It costs around NZ$900 plus I would pay excess baggage on it.

Thanks for your replies....

Obviously there is the warrenty issues, but I will let you mull on that. As for technical issues, I see no reason for it not working, Holland used (no longer uses now DVB-T) PAL, however I cannot remember which flavour, but it looks as though this will support all flavours. Other thing is you will not be using the PAL decoder as you will be using analog component or HDMI which bypass PAL.
