Hi, I have a sky decoder in my bedroom and the Sky cable that connects to the decoder from the dish is stretched to it's limit, heavily restricting my current setup.

I want to extend the cable, but I'm not sure what I need. Searches for a "Sky extender cable" in Google brings no luck. I think I need a male-female cable of some sort (coaxial?) but some guidance on this (and even a link to a product at DSE or other store :D) would be appreciated.

The easiest way is to simply buy a premade RG6 F connector - F connector cable and a F81 joiner. I don't believe DSE sell premade RG6 cables but Jaycar have them available in various lengths but both stores sell F81 joiners to connect both cables together.

Also most electrical supply stores (edgleys, master trade) will have RG6 Dual Shielded Coax in store... if you are lucky you can also buy two F Connectors to go on each end and they may also crimp it for you.

There are also guys on Trademe selling pre-made "1M RG6" Coax cables, you do the buynow and they sell you however long a length of cable you want.

Then all you will need as mentioned above is a Female-Female F Type Connector and you should be away, however many Set Top Boxes also have Satellite In & Out so you may not need the Female-Female connector if you are planning to add a second box rather than move the first box to another room.

Thanks everyone for the help, I've purchased a 1m RG6 cable with F connectors and an F to F connector from TradeMe.
