would it be possible for NZ people to be beta testers for the HE-AAC audio ?

I don't have a popcorn hour, but would really consider getting one if I could use it to play back my dvb-t recordings (I have a dual dvb-t tuner, but all 3 of my pc's aren't powerful enough to decode the channels!!!!)

popcorn: I can confirm HE-AAC  is being tested at present and will be available in the next couple of months. Subject to full testing etc..

As a PCH owner, that is great news.

I'm 80% sure that I'll be wanting to get a Popcorn Hour. What kind of time frame are we looking at until you are up and running and able to supply the PCH?

Hi Kev,

I can be interested in the products if can help to reach the minimum of 10. The only thing is I will be off New Zealand for the next three month but from September I will be back. Like others I prefer a model with wifi and if possible with Giga ethernet.

Thanks

according to this website   http://www.popcornhour.co.nz/
the unit sells for $1000 approx which includes the 500gb harddrive  is this true ??

i recently brought my popcorn for $290 including gst and postage  but no harddrive  .......i thought u wanted to be competitive in the market  as u can get other media players for $300 to $400 ...the good thing about popcorn that it was on the cheap side of things but with this price it has gone out of the general new zealanders

HOPEFULLY i am wrong

Yes, but read Kev's comment a couple of posts back - it's not his site. Just someone putting a drive into the existing model and adding a "little" profit margin.

the little profit margin  sounds bit of a understatement .a 500GB harddrive cost $110 now , my unit cost 290 +110=$400  , hmmm $600 to 700  profit very healthy return lol

Hi Guys,

My web site is well underway now, just waiting for Popcorn to give the thumps up with the contence  and we will be live.

You will all be very pleased with the prices I hope nothing like $1000. We are also planning to offer other high quality meda products on the site, but to start with there will be the 3 popcorn models (I hope) plus Wifi and cables, hard disks etc..

Thanks for the support everyone I hope to offer a good product and there may be some extra's for Geekzone members (Remember I have been a member for years)

I am also hope to offer the new models for review on Geekzone before any other NZ site
