I've used PowerDVD for a while now but only recently started watching DVDs in my collection again, as I've had a bit of free time and it's been rubbish weather - so perfect for a bit of vegging.

I use PowerDVD 8 Ultra for my TV and DVD decoding, Vista's default decoder doesn't look to great on my rig, and my motherboard manufacturer seemed to say it played better with Cyberlink than any other decoder.  So I bought PowerDVD Ultra a few months ago.

I've found this problem:  super slow menu navigation in Windows Media Center.  It's seriously slow to the EXTREME!  When I load a DVD - whether it's stored on the hard drive or on an actual DVD, it's hit and miss whether or not I'll even see a cursor on the menu screen telling me which option is currently highlighted.  Top level menu navigation seems okay but when i go a bit deeper, say into the scenes or settings or special features menu, it can take over 30 seconds to move between options within each menu.  Just choosing a chapter to watch can take 2 minutes!

I emailed Cyberlink about this and what do you know, I got the old "We regret to inform you that PowerDVD is not supported with Windows Media Center".  Great.  It'd be nice if they put a big bold note on their frontpage saying so!  But, I've not had these issues in the past with prior versions of the software.

So, my question is this:  does anyone use PowerDVD in their rig and does it perform the same way with DVD movies?  Bear in mind that it works perfectly with television, this fault is only with DVD.  If you've got this problem and have figured out why/how to fix it pleeeease let me know.
