Hi all

just wondering if there is a work around for this one.

i use my marantz amp SR5007 with all the HDMI inputs and it has one output.

The output i send to a switch which diverts it to the TV or the projector OR to other video displays around the house.

Now this is great for sky/freeview which i set as the default pass through signal - so when i want to watch my recorded sky signal in living room or bed1 or bed 2 i can.

However when i switch the amp on, in order to receive a second source (say DVD) at my chosen location (bed 1 or bed2) it has no sound only picture.

This is (i think) because the amp is switching the sound to the living room speakers but is not passing the sound channel along the hdmi out - is this correct ?

is there a way to switch the speakers out to just stereo through the TV set in the receiving rooms or does it simply default to the full 5:1 speaker set up in the living room ?

any insights ?

Rob

think i may have found a solution.

HDMI menu setting as a audio out option for AVR or TV.

Experiments required at lunch today.
