Without seeing the difference, it sounds promising. Hopefully a lower cost option to OLED/microLED, since it seems to be utilizing existing mature technologies. Quite cool to see a few of the Chinese OEMs trying new tech and competing with the higher end incumbents.


Interested to see how this pans out. And if it makes its way here.

Quite an interesting combo. I suppose you could say its not very elegant, in that it would be better to 'generate' zero light in the required locations instead of generating a bit and then blocking it. OTOH a lot better that edge dimming or even local.


That link shows some nice stuff, but considering we only got a new TV at Christmas and also considering how long its going to be before it gets replaced all this stuff will be ancient history anyway...
