Well I have now uninstalled this patch. It seems to have some serious issues and on top of that does not fix the NZ epgFrown

I have had the following problems.

Recording failing to record
Corruption of the recordings database
and very very slow response when adding or removing recordings (suspect this is linked to the database corruption)

The third issue was fixed immediately after uninstalling the patch. I will have to see how recordings go before saying that the recordings are reliable again.

Not me... I've been spending time exploring alternatives like Media Portal. Trouble is it too seems to have problems - mainly around getting good smooth playback output.

TV Pack is just broken...

It's was a minute or two before 7PM and the other half wanted to record a show from 7-7:30 so I fire up the Guide page, highlight the show and click the red record button. Up pops the record symbol so I flick across to the Recorded TV page and lo there it is "This program is currently recording".

Trouble is when the other half comes along an hour or two later there's no sign of it. Looking at the History page there's the recording listed but it's flagged as "partial". Click it and it says recording something like 6:59:24 and stopped at 6:59:45 when a conflicting recording was detected.

But there weren't any!!! I have zero series set to record and there were no other recordings set for at least an hour and a half or more.

Grrrrrr. I can't even begin to trust this damned TV Pack setup.

We have this same problem "Partial recording" what tuners are you using? Are you using two Sat tuners?

Yup dual tuners. A PVR-150 on the end of my SKY STB and an HVR-3000 on DVB-S.

OK what I found was

A. Uninstall the patch at the begining of this post.
B. Setup the Sky transponders as per Satch's guide.
C. Use the epg data from the sky feeds for the freeview channels where possible.

I am now getting 100% hit rate.

I've removed the patch - and I'm still getting partial recordings. Grr.

I guess the only other thing is to try to delete the database and start afresh there.

Have you setup the EPG using Satches guide?

No I've simply not had the time lately... I'd hoped that by removing the patch I'd get basic functionality back enough to placate the other half, and then I could do the EPG per Satch's postings when I find some time.

Think you might have to make the time....

To be honest though it does not take long. Make sure you setup a batch file to remove the recordings though otherwise it really messes up your recordings.

Something like this..

d:
cd\"recorded tv"
Del /q "Manual Recording_Animal Planet*.wtv"
Del /q "Manual Recording_ESPN*.wtv"
Del /q "Manual Recording_Food Television*.wtv"
Del /q "Manual Recording_Trackside*.wtv"
Del /q "Manual Recording_BBC World*.wtv"
Del /q "Manual Recording_Discovery*.wtv"
Del /q "Manual Recording_63*.wtv"

Of course you will only need the recordings to give you TV1, 2, 3 etc.
