I should qualify what I said by explaining that I already had PowerDVD 8 Ultra from a while back, and switched to TMT for Vista Blu-ray integrated playback. Now that TMT doesn't work i'm back to using my PowerDVD license meaning I don't have to buy TMT when it comes out, although I will probably upgrade TMT if the option is there for free

Not to mention you can get a 30% discount if it is your first purchase... well you can if you can get hold of their intro version anyway.

And its only $220 NZ.

At that price I might buy a copy for everyone on here. What a steal!

I'm still using the version of PDVD which came with my blu-ray drive, v 7.3 I think. I'm not bothering with the Media Center "plugin" as it is pants. For the few blu-ray movies I do watch, I just view them directly in PDVD itself because I never found the "plugin" to be very reliable. Haven't tried with Windows 7 though...

OKI know this is now way off topic so sorry but I had a quick look last night and I do have the PowerDVD 7.3 BD version that came with my drive.

Now I seem to remember that someone said that when you install this you get a free upgrade to ultimate or some such? Can anyone confirm?

If I am going to jump to Windows 7 I need to know that bluray playback will intergrate with media centre and that I will be able to ideally use analogue 7.1 (dolby digital/dts decode by soundcard) out or as a fallback spdif passthough.

If anyone is using the bundled software that came with their bd drive and can confirm if there is a free upgrade or if the bundled version can do what I want for the mean time that would be great.
Also does it have any issues with new blu ray disks?

Ulimately I will go back to TMT but I just need something in the mean time.

I certainly haven't installed any plugins for it, it just "works" with the Play DVD button from the main Media Center menu.

This is in VMC or 7MC? When I installed it on VMC (pre TV Pack) it put an extra icon on my menu to the left of 'Recorded TV'. This enabled the BD playback by minimising VMC and opening PDVD. But often it did not go back to VMC properly and I had to restart VMC to get it going again.
