Need a bit of a hand here, my boss has bought a universal remote for his mothers tv a DSE (dick smith electoronics) G6971 26' CRT tv. Now the problem is that DSE is not listed in manufacturers programing guide that came with unversal remote. Does any know if the dse tv's made by another company and rebadged as dse? Any help would be great!

On the off chance that the remote is a One-For-All brand universal remote($50 from DSE), you could look here:
Other than that, you might have a hard time finding the right codes unless you go through them one by one.

What brand is the universal remote?

Try philips - thats used a lot for off brand TV's - otherwise onwa are from the same large OEM in china that a lot of cheap tvs are.

Failing that start to do a code search on the remote.

If none of the methods works, then go to any DSE store and you can do a spare parts order for G6971 remote control. Should cost $29.99

Do whatever you want to do man.
