I wonder if this is going to be a story of Dell?

I ordereded a Dell venue 7 must be 2 weeks ago anyway we are 3-4 days past suggested delivery I contacted them via there email check order system (be afraid!)

I checked the order again this morning to see if it had actually left The order has been cancelled?

Tried ringing there 0800 outside of business hours

tried ringing a another number that came on email for new zealand was asked to enter a ext number

Has anyone else had this problem

They still are showing the same model for order on there NZ site

freitasm: Did you order directly from Dell or from Amazon?

My answer will most likely confirm my total newbie status

"you can buy Dell through Amazon?"

My answer is direct from dell through the NZ site

freitasm: Why are you calling USA? Did you buy online from Dell at http://www.dell.co.nz/ - if so then you can just call the Dell NZ numbers here.

Ahh where would we all be without freitasm!! I did actually call the NZ numbers but you prompted me to check then I read the thing properly and it says 12PM! so will try in a bit Cheers Mate

This is pretty typical of our experiences and those of our customers who have Dell. This is how it is when YOU are giving THEM money, imagine how fantastic support will be when effectively you want THEM to give YOU money.

I'd avoid at all costs.

Dell started to DM me details of my order on twitter after I gave them hassles about screwing me around. The problem is it was not my order, I never placed another order. Why would I when they cant even tell me what is going on and the social media people are telling me my computer is on its way and the other people are saying that my order is cancelled and to let them know if my refund has gone thru.

Whole operation seems incompetent and I hate to think what it would be like to deal with if the machine breaks and a tech has to come out since they dont have anywhere for me to take it to.

Status Update
Got through fairly quickly on the NZ numbers still sounded like they went to outer mongolia but the two chaps I spoke to were very helpful
The order had been cancelled
a new order had been placed
the unit was waiting on hardware supply
3rd dec suggested delivery date
they would talk to the various parties and expedite the order for me
he will get back to me in 48 hours with a status update
checked my contact details

ok well lets see.........

Did they say why they cancelled it?

I suspect dell are just canceling orders for BS reasons when they oversell things beyond what they can supply in the timeframe quoted.
