Asus A8Jc, bought 13 months ago, warranty JUST expired!
Hinge on the left side is starting to come unstuck, the screen is sloppy when opening, i.e i open the screen to the angle i want and it can come forward a few degrees, hinge isnt holding the screen firm.

Question is, can something like this be fixed, love this laptop, is goes hard, and is nice and light plus it cost me a fair bit last year.
Not sure if i could fix this myself, have no problem with hardware but this is a new thing to me.

Anyone had something like this happen to them?
 What did you do?

ill try upload some photos if i can...

You could ask the manufacturer to extend the warranty for you?

IF the damage is from a manufacturing defect or reasonable wear and tear, then nevermind the warranty, they are likely obliged under the CGA to repair, replace or refund.

BUT if the damage is from an accident or rough handling etc, then neither warranty nor CGA will apply...

The standard warranty on an ASUS notebook is 24months.

You may want to check to see if it is still under warranty or not.

Glad to get it fixed.
