As above.  Looks like someone got some red cellophane and put it across the whole screen.  Took a screen shot and emailed it, checking the image on another computer and the picture I get is normal, so am I right in thinking this likely a hardware issue?

Only 6 months old so it will be back to the shop in that case.  Crap timing.

For a data point maybe boot into pre-os and see if it happens there.

Does it do it on the inital scrren prior to booting to windows? Maybe put in a ubuntu boot disk to see if it does it in linux. If so it will likely be hardware related.

Thanks. Had a further chat to my son and he advised that the first splash screen was normal for a split second before it all changed red, so went through boot menu and all good there too. Ended up doing s complete reinstall of the graphics drivers and software and suddenly all normal again. Whew!

It happens to me few days back when I open my laptop Its HP laptop because of water damage and after a few minutes it stop working. I went to the repair shop they advice me to change the mother board.
