eXDee: Three questions

1) Can we request phoneboxes to be considered to be made into APs? Theres one from the trial in raglan, but further down the street theres a second booth that is right in the heart of the busy part of town.
2) Is EAP-SIM on the cards?
3) Can you please paint the older ones with the "dome" APs that were part of the trial (not the hanging down newer APs) as a TARDIS? The dome would make a perfect flashing light. Make the the phone ring randomly with the ringtone of the engines for extra credit.

Also, can you please ensure they are working time machines? I owe me from the past a few slaps!

I have similar problem connecting to the Telecom free Wifi.
I work in Auckland CBD so I walk past quite a few of them every day.

It had been working quite good few months ago but recently i'm having more and more trouble with them.

I'm using a LG G2, I get very strong wifi signal (like I stand right next to it) and got no data. Tried waiting a few minutes, turn off/turn on WIFI and still nothing came through.

I remember it used to happen occasionally few months ago, but now it only occasionally works

This happened to pretty much most (or all?) of the telecom free wifi spots near queen street and also in newmarket, epsom, onehunga...etc

very annoying as one of the big reason I use telecom is the free wifi

i have no problem with other (private) wifi spots

Have you phoned their support about it. I am guessing they are faulty and need fixing. I wonder how well they are maintained and tested?

No i haven't contact them. I want to see if anyone else have the same issue or is it just me

if everyone is having the same problem then i'll probably contact them and see what they say...

I seem to connect to most of them ok, except the one at 170 Queen Street which it never connects to (and is the one I would use the most). It hangs at 'Obtaining IP Address' even after disconnecting, forgetting the network and rejoining. Using Android.

afe66: I had a similar issue a couple of times with Koru Club login.
Seemed to settle after I rebooted / turned off /on, then seemed to be fine from then on.

Same here....and when I did get logged into Koruclub wifi....it was so slow I went back to mobile data. Then tried Koruclub wifi a bit later when the room was less busy and couldn't connect at all.

My only "issue" with Telecom's free wifi is that if I'm in a moving vehicle, my phone will connect to the wifi...and within seconds I'm out of range...and whatever i was trying to do then fails. Worse if stopped at a red light on the margins of the range.....you can't get usable wifi, but your phone won't kick over to mobile data either.

It's a nice problem to have. I think the free wifi data is an awesome idea.
