I recently went on holiday outside NZ, and while I was on holiday, I dropped my phone on a hard ceramic tiled floor, and I cracked the bottom of the glass, and there's long crack going up the top half of my screen. While the phone is still usuable, lately I've been noticing reception issues too. Although my 3g signal has always been useless around here, I've noticed that my Wifi isn't very strong on the other end of the house, and frequently disconnects, which previously I had pretty rock solid wifi coverage throughout the house, and beyond on the S3, and this isn't a very big house.
My question is, how does the insurance work regarding excess etc?
I should've gotten the phone fixed, the moment I got back from SA, however I needed it badly, and I still do and I only found out today that while it's being repaired, or replaced, they let a person hire a phone, I also have some messages on my phone that are important to me, which I need to back up somehow.
Are S3s still being repaired, in my case, replace the glass, repair the reception issue, and the paint's peeling off the sides, or would they just replace it?
Are S3s still available, or would Telecom swap it for a S4, at the insurance's expense?
