I was hoping for something used that someone may have upgraded from and have lying around. Cash is tight at the moment and I really need to get my other prepay number over to flexi asap.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm assuming you haven't spoken to a dealer.

On both Flexi Plans you will recieve a mobile credit for trading in your sim card which can offset the cost of the hardware and you have the option to pay the hardware off interest free over 12 months.

In the case of the Pantect 1000 @ $129 thats less than $11 a month plus the mobile credit.

Thats if I enter into a 24 month term, I have a contact that is able to connect me without term, but all their old phones I could get free/cheap are not portability capable, and apparently there is quite a demand for the few that come in furthur up the chain of command.

some old phones might "work" on ported numbers

Any older nokia's you can forget, from the dawn of time they have been locked up, same with most sanyo's. You are probably stuck with an old samsung or pantech as i notice you can program anything into the nam.

I currently have a ported number on a nokia 2118 that should not work but it glitched one day so i restored factory settings and it must have fully reset as it now has two nam's and it allowed me to put in any number.

However telecom probably won't connect it, mine was only meant as a holding phone when i got two phones swapped over.

Something I probably wouldn't broadcast over the internet...

Telecom rules state that all new connections and upgrades onto a flexi plan are subject to a 12 or 24 month contract term.
