m3mberman: Any idea if this baby will be using the Rev0 network or the newer RevA network? If it still uses the Rev0 network and is sporting winMob5 instead of the newer winMob6, I don't see much reason to upgrade to this machine yet.

just tested my titan on the xtra speed test site and got 1884.2kps take your own conlusions

Thats standard speed if you get a good run on Rev 0...It definately doesnt mean it is Rev A, which Im quite sure you will find it is Rev 0...

The EV-DO feature of CDMA2000 networks is significantly faster than the Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE) used by GSM networks. It provides access to mobile devices with air interface speeds of up to 2.4 Mbit/s with Rev. 0

While I agree that this speeds can be a good Rev 0 run, I wouldn't use Wikipedia as a reference.

Comparing CDMA EVDO with EDGE? This is just plain, well, dumb. One should compare CDMA 1xRTT with EDGE, but not CDMA 1x EVDO.

A better comparison for CDMA EVDO would be HSDPA. Even UMTS (WCDMA) is not near the speeds CDMA EVDO can provide.

Please note this wasn't directed at you, but to the wikipedia article!

Was just referring to the max evdo rev 0 speeds, and the fact it doesnt mean the device is Rev A.  Telecom quote the average I think?
