We moved in around December, so it's been like this for a while. There will be a ticket in the system for the tech to come onsite.

It's rural, so everyone has electric fences. The closest to the house is the neighbours at the back of the property - about 50M away.

Your line just does not look healthy.
I would suggest giving us a call and go through troubleshooting what the problem is.  Most of the time the issue is tracked down to an issue with the home wiring somewhere, and it would be good to eliminate this as the cause of your low connect rate.
That doesn't mean that there isn't an issue on your line that Chorus would need to fix, just what we find the majority of the time - we just can't tell where the fault lies at this time.

Your speeds should be a lot higher for that attenuation.

There really are 3 causes - external interference (such as an electric fence), an internal wiring issue in your house, or an external Chorus fault.

While you've mentioned a Chorus issue that doesn't mean the fault isn't in your house - testing this really requires testing at the demark, and at the pillar, which is something the average home owner can't do.

Are you by any chance on Catley Road? One half of it is in a 20mbit zone whilst the other half is in a 1mbit zone so if you're on the other end you'll be on either older cabling or cabling that runs another route, it is all however connected to the same cabinet. There are a few places in Te Horo like this.

dont trust the NZRS map yet there are soo many flaws in it at the moment, go off chorus

im guessing you havent sorted this yet then?

maybe PM someone like michaelmurphy your address and see if he can get a better idea of how far you are awy from the equipment and what speeds you should be getting

Yep - taking that with a grain of salt. We obviously do have ADSL albeit it slow, and had wireless confirmed as well.

Will be home at a reasonable time today, so will be able to call Spark to get the ball rolling on getting this sorted.

Either that or offer to pay your neighbours bill and setup P2P wireless.

Ok, lets see how this goes. Call initiated at 16:48. Been on hold for a wee while now - talked to two people, and back on hold again.....

Will update this post with details as they come to hand.

Bit of a muck around - finally got put through to a poor girl who was not sure why broadband has transfered to her department. Well not surprisingly she could not help.

Tidbit of information gleaned from the conversation, was expected speed for our address is 3 - 3.3mbps.

Call ended with me being no more enlightened about what could be causing the slowness.

I suspect I will have to follow up with farmside about the RBI ins and outs.

From http://chorus.co.nz/maps are you in a 1,5,10 or 20mbit area? You haven't really answered this.

No point in calling your provider to be honest. You're already getting over the regulated spec.

If the Chorus map says you can't get coverage it's because your attenuation is too high. Your figures back that up.

Based on that data there isn't anything wrong with your connection - you're actually lucky it's working at all!
