We've just taken delivery of one of the newer HG659B routers and I am trying to change the host IP address to as our DHCP range currently uses and every time I try to change it I get 'Invalid IP address' error.

Looking at the Spark website How to's I can see there is a comment saying "The guest Wi-Fi feature has been defaulted to use IP range 192.168.2.x by design and will not work if amended" so i am wondering if this is what's preventing me from assigning the host IP?

This will be a major pain in the wotsits as we have a number of printers that have the IP address/DNS server statically configured so not being able to set up the router as a like for like swap will be nasty.

Bit of a late reply. Did you ever find a solution to this? I've come across the same issue, and it's a pain to change the existing subnet from

Looks like you can change the guest subnet via telnet, but it uses a different password from the web interface and I can't find it anywhere.

EDIT: I started a different thread regarding gaining telnet access before this thread was unlocked, so really just curious if there is another means to change the guest subnet.

I don't understand that.  I use as a start for my class-C LAN without any problem.

As an aside, you did not mention if you have the guest WiFi actually enabled so I assume you don't.
