I have just changed to big time.  while everything else is working, I can't connect to the office citrix server any more.  I assume that it is the traffic shaping killing it.

I tried telecom support, but they had no idea except for trying it when the shaping is turned off.  That's not my idea of office hours.

So, has anyone managed to get it working, or is it a lost cause?

Sean

The server is located in Auckland, I am in Hastings. It was working last week, before I changed from Pro to bt.

I'm on Big Time and use Microsoft Terminal Services/Remote Desktop from home every night without issue...Using it now infact.

Citrix uses different ports 1494 (http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX101810), but you would think traffic shaping would only apply to international traffic.

What's the error message that you get? Can you telnet to the port directly? Is it just slow?

I just tried the Cirtix demo site and ran Microsoft Word and it worked fine.

Can you do the same?

I don't know what the ip of the server is. I connect to a website that lists my published apps and click on one to launch.

The citrix demo from testdrive works fine. I can run our published apps from other networks (ie from the office, from wellington airport or using a 3g modem) but not from home.

WhenI try to connect, I get a progress bar saying "Connection in progress". It gets about 1/2 way through and then stops. Eventually it errors with a "Protocol driver error"

If you can access the Citrix demo site, then it sounds like a routing problem with your Citrix server, but it's hard to tell from just the info here.

Here are three possible solutions

Troubleshooting the Citrix XTE Service and Errors: There is no route to the specified address ... Protocol Driver Error

Citrix ICA Client 9.2 Receives "Protocol Driver Error" when Connecting through Citrix Secure Gateway 3.0

Probably cached invalid dns lookup either in Windows or on your router.

If you run across that problem again try ipconfig /flushdns in a cmd window.
