NonprayingMantis: that's not quite right I believe. credit only expires after six months if the account itself expires, which happens when no topup is made at least once every six months.

In other words, as long as you make a topup at least every six months no credit will ever expire.

The T&Cs state:

"Once you add credit to your Telecom Prepaid Account you will need to use that credit within a period of six months. Any credit not used within six months will expire and you will need to add additional credit in order to use the Services."

I just called *333 to see when my credit expires, but it doesn't want to tell me. I press 1 for account information, followed by 2 to see when it will expire, but I just get a generic notice that credit expires if you don't top up "regularly". Does anyone actually get a date out of the system? The menu option is worded something like "to find out when your credit expires, press 2" so it implies that it should give you a date.

I find it it interesting that no telecom employees have stepped in to deny this with something like "There is currently no set date for when the bonus credit offer will end" or similar. Usually they are quite quick with this kind of thing to prevent the confusion we're having right now.

Staying silent to me kinda affirms it a little, but i still want to hear this officially.

I seriously hope that this isnt the case.. Im moving over to XT for my data, basically because they were the cheapest and had good performance is most of my tests. But if they discontinue this offering, they are no longer the cheapest option on the table.

If they do withdraw it, I will likely be off to Orcon or similar.

I got a free T Stick in December but I never use it.  I knew it'd expire around June but I had no way of finding out exactly what date.  I finally got someone to tell me when I last topped up (i.e. activated the T Stick, I suppose).

Furthermore, I topped up $20 in June and I still have all the credit including the stuff that is over 6 months old, so I think that confirms that credit doesn't expire.  I'm pretty sure one of the Telecom guys here said the same thing when all the questions were floating around after the T Stick promotion.

If you top up before any credit expires, none of it will expire.

I have a t-stick used very occasionally. I bought it in January preloaded with $30 and have never topped it up. Thinking that whatever credit it had on it had expired I was prompted by this thread to check and it still has a couple of dollars left.
