I flashed the BTU 4.3 ROM the other day to see if its any better and it seem to run better have the random cut out when listening to podcasts and music but nothing that use to happen.

Haven't decided if battery life is back to normal yet or not.

I dropped my phone on Sunday.. 1.5m on to concrete.. Sweet lady luck was smiling on me though, as that morning I took an hour and a half to perform a full backup of the contacts, photos etc using Kies in preperation for a format/reinstall of 4.3!

Enjoy your phones, 1 second they're there.. The next they're not..

I agreed and upgrading to Nexus 5 would be the best choice. :)

Never again waiting for 1 whole year for a firmware update.

Noelleemings had the I9506 with the Snapdragon 800 (same chipset as N3) so very happy.

However, I thought the S4 was being upgraded to 4.3? it's only running 4.2.2, considering it was only released basically November, it's frustrating I need to play the waiting game alllllllll over again.

Oh well.

Still waiting for 4.3 on GT-i9300VNZ...

Need this update to fix touchwiz RAM and task management issues. Also battery usage looks to to be improved as well from what I have read.

I'm guessing Vodafone has approved it but Samsung is just being Samsung. Crappy data center and services. I still don't see why Samsung won't bloody set up a geolocation OTA data center to push out update at a timely manner instead of rolling country by country, missing the target date and slow upload.

Not going to buy another Samsung if it is not going to improve its service and updates. Even LG/HTC are now pushing out updates faster. Not to mention LG UI launcher is smoother experience than TouchLagWiz. Sorry just bragging a bit to get my frustration out :)

Any progress?  I got a galaxy gear for xmas and I understand I need the update to connect it with my SG3.  We've got a short time we can take it back if we're not able to sync them, but if the upgrade fixes it then I'd rather hang onto it.  I could install an overseas rom, but its a work phone so I'd rather not if I can avoid it.

Expect it to be lived in a few months. It won't here any time soon. I have already using Omega ROM. Tired of waiting.]

That seems crazy, specially when the gear is being sold here and is pretty much worthless without the upgrade for most phones. Looks like I'm rooting tomorrow then.

From my observation, Samsung is rolling out update 4.3 based on geographical location.

Starting with America, UK, EU, East EU....
So next will be middle east, Africa, West Asia, Central, East Asia then Oceania.

Our last update from Samsung was on 11.03.2013 VNZ.
So our 4.3 update is probably goes live on the 11.03.2014 VNZ.

Samsung has a track record of slow update rolling out for Oceania region and some is probably at least 2 to 3 months after elsewhere.

So don't hold your breath.

It seems like Samsung is only rolling out update to EU mostly.

1 or 2 updates in South America.
Russia and India got their updates as well but that is just how far it got then it is going back to EU updates again. Almost every country in EU are on 4.3 update. So may be we might get our update in mid Feb or 11 March 2014 as I predicted.

I still don't see why Samsung can't afford to upgrade their data centre facility to provide timely update to its customer.

How does one come to this conclusion when Vodafone NZ approved the 4.3 update quite a while back?

Good news though, 4.3 update has been rolling out in South East Asia region today. Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia are receiving 4.3. So It is slowly moving toward Australasia countries like Aus and NZ. Might be within 2 weeks from now.

It is my guestimate only, not intended to claim that it will be released in the next 2 weeks for NZ but I hope so. I really need to reset my device because since I got it back from repair centre, it has problems with playing music and occasionally stuttered and cut off sound when locking and unlocking.

THE htc One X which was released at about same time as S3  isn't even getting upgraded and will only be updated to 4.2.2 later this week so not sure if your comment is based more on frustration than fact. LG is skipping 4.3 and going to 4.4 but hasn't yet

May I politely suggest that if you want fast updates go with Iphone or WP as they do it quicker because they have fewer phones. Android is a beast with so many phones so not surprising it takes a while, and it won't change any time soon.
