So upgrading from 60GB cable to unlimited data cable results in the same Static IP we have now, or a new one?

In regards to VodafoneTV, does that include the ParliamentTV channel?

In regards to unlimited internet, if we sign up to a 12 month contract can we get a modem, and we use our own wireless router (rather than a wireless modem that seems to be included)? Would this cost, though?

Is the 'wiring maintenance' charge of $3.94 included in the $115/month price (likewise with the line rental) - or is that in addition to the $115?

It seems the pricing when I select VodafoneTV Sky doesn't get updated, in regards to the image I attach. What is the cost of this service?

I have probably left out a few vital details - if so please let me know.

Any guidance in the above matters/getting the best deal much appreciated.

We also recently changed from LightSpeed 60gb to Unlimited.

 

     

  1. Yes it does include parliament TV. It includes all the Sky channels, You will get the same channels you have now and more as you are still on an old package and decoder I believe. I see you currently have Sky Sport and the rugby channel, You won't get this unless you add it
  2. Even though it says "Wireless modem" The cable modem they use is a Cisco DPC3008, They usually supply a Netcomm NF5 Wireless router that you can use with it but of course you can use any router. This cisco modem is pretty similar to the old motorola surfboard modem except it does higher speeds. The plan you're signing up to has 50 download and 2 upload. You can upgrade to 100 down and 10 up for an extra $10 a month.
  3. You will probably keep your same static IP (well we did)
  4. The wiring maintenance costs extra and is optional

 

The package builder worked for me, Here's what it gave me
Not including extras like caller display, wiring maintenance, the Home to Mobile Yak Pak, The Sky Sport and Rugby channel: You're currently paying $156.97 per month. The new package is $153 per month, And you get the recorder with a few extra channels that you couldnt get on the old STB, and faster, unlimited broadband.

 

Sky Sport, The rugby channel and Caller display will probably cost about the same as they do now

What exactly is the chat pak? 60 minutes to NZ mobiles? Is it any mobile or specific mobiles?

 

This Unlimited plan includes free Best Mates For Home Phone where you can select 5 NZ Mobiles or Landlines that you can call as many times as you like (limit of 2 hours per call) Maybe that would cover what you need

When you talk to the sales rep on the phone, They may have some special offers like a free speed upgrade to 100 for a year

The Yak Pak is 60 minutes to any NZ mobile phone, but we really only call a select few. The best mates for home phone would certainly cover our needs, which is why we would drop the Yak Pak.

In total, the cost of our new package (incl. caller display, Sports channels etc.) is $206. However I'm not sure whether we would still get the triple service discount we currently get (of $13.74).

No you won't get that discount, We don't (well it doesnt show on the bill) But I think with these packages the home phone part is cheaper than it used to be, $20 instead of $30 something or what ever it was

 

If you want the 100mbs option it will be $163 + $26.68 for Sky Sport + $8.81 for the Rugby channel + $3.50 for caller display + $3.95 = 205.94

Pretty much $206 like you said, so about a $13 saving plus unlimited faster internet and tv recorder with some extra channels

The need for this thread is an indication that Vodafone can't easily define their product sets.  I have the same problem, I am a long term Voda/Telstra user with a Telstra cable and TV.  I have looked at the way Voda package their TV channels and tried to compare the channels I am currently getting with my original Telstra account (plus any changes and additions over time) with the way Voda now package them, I can't find any easy to read lists they all seem to be pictures, and there are no comparisons. I want to take advantage of any new pricing options but don't want to lose anything I currently have because I failed to understand the options.

They used to have their own TV packages called 'Basic' that was different to Sky's basic package, It had less channels I think, Maybe you're still on that?

But now they just use Sky's basic channel package, Which I believe has more channels than the old TelstraClear Basic one. I doubt the new package would have any channels missing but im not sure

With Telstra, I had the basic package, Soho and Rialto plus any changes that got made over time.  Translating that into the Sky packages should be easy but its not that easy to compare like for like.

Okay, so we decided what we want. I log into Customer Zone but I don't see any option where I can upgrade our services. Help!

EDIT: So I created a User ID for our account (I was logging into CustomerZone with our TelstraClear Account # and password), but trying to associate an account number with this User ID, as well as trying to associate an email (it seems restricted to paradise emails(?)), I get this:

or navigate to a different part of this site.


Still seeing no option to upgrade our services.

We used to change the speed of our broadband service but if we wanted to change our overall package (ie change to a different TV package) then we had to call Vodafone.

Anyway, calling Vodafone is the best way to get your questions answered. Just write down your questions beforehand and write down the answers for the record and so you can check them off when your new package is implemented.
