My two numbers got ported through to WXC this morning and I have a SPA2102 here wich is connected to VFX now.
As everyone knows there are two PSTN ports on SPA2102 (Line1 & Line2), I have connected the SPA as follows

Line 1 - Connected to a Analogue phone
Line 2 - Connected to Brother FAX machine

I would like the Line 1 to ring when the first ported number is called and the second number to be a dedicated fax line.
Appreciate your assistance.

You will need to clarify your setup with Xnet, but your two ported numbers will end up on the two separate analogue ports. Just ring each number to see where they end up. If the number for your fax ends up on "line 1", just use that for your fax machine to plug into, and use "line 2" for the phone. Otherwise, you would need to contact Xnet to change your numbers around on your SPA2102.
That make sense? Not quite sure what your were trying to ask here.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster and even more now as they are upgrading their rural Conklins. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend $195 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

Took a look at this last night, it appears that we put the second line on your 2102, but the first was still on te original 3102, we have reconfigured this last night, however you device does not appearing to be accepting the config even though it's picking it up, I'm away on leave this week and off to the Sevens Today Cool but Steve is looking at this this morning, it may be that your device could be faulty,

You could try a factory reset and put the provisioning link back in first though.

Very efficient service from WXC ( esp Phil's) both of my ported numbers are working now.
I have an issue.... plugged a fax machine (Brother FAX 2820) into Line 2 of SPA2102, this line will only be used for send/receive faxes.

I'm having trouble send/receive faxes, it dials but never send or receives faxes, however voice calls are okay. I did search for the old posts but did not find any answers; I have also changed my cable to 4 wires (RJ11 to RJ11) but still no joy. I have seen the fax over IP settings on the SPA 2102 but these are pretty much locked after the provisioning.

I thought of asking this here before calling the help desk on Monday.

One more question.... will WXC give us capability FAX to email as an option?

I am using a Brother MFC5840CN via a WRTP54G and it works fine.  It also worked via a PAP2T.  Should also be OK with SPA2102.

Did you plug a phone into Line 2 of SPA2102 and test the number you are dialling using the phone and did you hear a fax machine answer at the other end?

There are some fax settings in the Brother that you can play around with:

-  Compatibility = Basic/Normal/High
-  Line Type = ADSL or Normal
and some others I cannot remember right now.

Also try setting the Fax Mode to Manual, and use the HOOK button, listen for Dial Tone, then Dial, wait for answer, and then press START to send the fax manually.  That will show if there is some problem with the SPA2102 connection, rather than the Brother Fax Machine.

Maverick said that it is coming soon... not quite sure when exactly, but can't be too much longer now.  Maybe after the Sevens have finished Tongue out

Hi Shash,

I have updated your config with a more fax friendly codec on the second line. If you could reboot the 2102 and have it get that new config and give it a go it should work a bit better.

Both of my lines were gone down from 8pm today, both lines are failing to register anyone else experiencing this issue.
Tried power cycling the device but no luck!!

Thanks Niel, I have 2 VFX accounts with WXC, one of them is up and running we are using almost every day to make International calls on this line.
But this particular line with dual number has gone to sleep since last night 8pm, let see what Help desk have to say about this.

After talking to the Tech team at WXC today (39 minutes on the queue, my cordless phone on speaker phone and finished vacuum cleaning my car) went through the factory reset etc but nothing helped .... Conclusion is ...this problem could be in the config file...

my case is with the operations team to attend on Monday.
Drama continues... not to speak about the FUSION that is supposed to be enabled on this line on the 1st of Feb.

Can’t understand how this can happen to a working config  and reliability of the config is in question, and can I use my VFX to St john’s life link service?

There is demand, where is the supply?
