We're moving house at the weekend, so last Monday (3rd March) I rang XNet and asked for my Fusion service to be transferred to the new address on Saturday 15th.

After hearing nothing from them, and remembering a comment from the guy I talked to about provisioning it closer to the time, I got worried and rang them today. This morning I got told that the person in provisioning that they needed to talk to was away from their desk, so they'd call me back on my cellphone and read me the number - 3 hours later I hadn't happened received a call.  This afternoon I eventually found out that they had no reference of my earlier request, so it hadn't been passed to Telecom to be provisioned.  After again giving them my new address details, I've found out that the service can't be moved until the 18th.

When I got home from work I foound a message regarding the provisioning.  I was told that the earliest that the service can be provisioned is 3 days after we move, with the underlying message that it's my fault because I didn't let them know about it in time.  WTF?  Isn't 2 weeks long enough?

I really can't wait to tell the wife this news...

Other than I have spent a couple of hundred dollars buying a WAG54GP2 and don't really want to get another phone number, I'm seriously considering telling them where to stick their service.  In the past I have encouraged other people to look at WxC for their internet, but no more.  They used to be a good company to deal with, but since January their service has been crap.

Hi John,

Looking at this it is human error which I can only apologise for and will be following up with the relevant people on.

I have had a look too and my colleague has been following up with Telecom and you should find that the service is active when you move.  If you have any issues give our helpdesk a call but with any luck the new move address process that we're using will work fine for you.

Thanks,

Wendy

Thanks Wendy, It's really appreciated.

Apologies for the ranting, but this was the final straw in, what is for me, a stressful moving process.

Thanks again.
John

You will find that WxC quotes the worst time and delivers early.  That is what you do when you need to get a 3rd party to do the actual work.  That said, thing do go wrong sometimes so it is good to follow up with them.
