manhinli: John Campbell: Are you exploiting a monopoly in New Zealand?

Mark Rushworth: Of course not!

Although I feel sorry for Mark Rushworth (the individual), the Mark Rushworth (Vodafone spokesman) took a much-deserved beating for stating that they DIDN'T know about other carriers' plans. You call yourself a marketing manager?

And $50/month plan? Where?

John Campbell is my idol now.

krysiszone:

He must think that NZ are so backward that we cannot look up the internet to see what other carriers are charging.

No.  He knows we can't afford to with the data prices they're charging Tongue out

DasKid: Actually we should think of all the benefits of Vodafone's iPhone pricing...

- Vodafone finally earning the 'evil corporate' status it so richly deserves

They have been evil in my books for some time now. In short, never trust a company.

I saw Campbell too.

How that Vodafone guy managed to keep a straight face I have no idea! His media coaching must be stupendous. I especially liked learning that "it costs a lot of money to bring that data down to New Zealand"!!

I think I'll take the wife for dinner at John Campbell's mum's place at the weekend just to say thanks!

The iPhone is great value for money. Yeah, right!

Ahh yessss but now John Campbell's made sure that everyone thinks that.

I wonder what Vodafone will do now.  I'm guessing bury their heads in the sand and hope it all blows over.

What's up with the Apple Store?  Maybe it's allergic to bad publicity, an overloading of the RDF or something.

Maybe because Mark Rushworth said that Apple puts prices higher for Macs v.s. PCs, when comparing prices for the iPhone... Laughing

Just in case you guys were wondering, the Apple Store is down because they are putting MobileMe up soon.

(I think)

Fair enough, however Telecom are just as evil in my book. The problem is there seems to be no reasonable alternative.

Vodafone used to impress me with their service; for instance, they used to ring me every so often and tell me whether the plan I was on made sense for my usage and how best I could optimise the costs. Not sure where or when it went to custard, but events like today show that it's a vastly different company from what it used to be.

Yes, because they have to rent ships and containers and all... (sigh)
