Optus and Vodafone in Australia have a 900MHz 3G network, which also is unable to be used by the iPhone 3G for 3G connection, which will run on the 2100MHz 3G network, which has also been criticised for the small coverage.
I quite obviously missed out the "the iPhone" bit there, which I added afterwards. This is, after all, an iPhone thread. That was also the gist of my previous posts.
At least in Australia you can understand the desire for longer range coverage. We're not so spread out. Getting back to what I quoted from the vodabot conversation, the setup costs in NZ should be cheaper. There's no excuse for such gouging.
