Extremely disappointing pricing plans with poor excuses by your marketing manager on Cambell Live. How could you allow a manager of yours to sit on national TV and lie to us stating he was not aware of prices anywhere else in the world. We are not all a pack of idiots; I feel you have damaged your brand these last few days. I for one will be moving away from Vodafone with an extremely bitter taste in my mouth.

What's particularly funny, is that this is a flat out lie. I just noticed the ad on TV for "Best Ever Txter". Tack on a 200MB data plan to a "Best Ever Txter", and guess what you get for $80? Oh snap, it's an iPhone plan! The iPhone plans are the same as their regular plans! For $90, you'd even get 500MB of data (double up guarantee).

I have seen this line trotted out in a number of VF communications and reports from fellow Geeks.

It seems to me that the sentence has lost "Vodafone plans are expensive and not very good value for money, but...." at the beginning and should have "We accept that this is not good enough and will be ensuring that we offer plans that give our New Zealand customers parity with our Australian customers very soon." added to the end!

You speak truth, my apologies. It still isn't as good a deal as they claim, when this is actually a far better deal (composed out of actual Vodafone plans!):

Hahaha. Had to laugh when i saw the opening statment on the broadband page for Vodafone.

"With us, your freedom won't cost much."

It should be "With us, your freedom won't cost much*"

*2x body parts a month, plus 29.95 for 200MB data.

There are a couple of prices for Aus and NZ here from people who claim to know (and were willing to share it).

Nothing verifiable, and there's not much chance of anyone confirming what they state - or at least anyone in a position to do so (which is how it should be). Conjecture will be all we have.

I am very interested to know how people go negotiating a subsidy level with this. Despite what is published on the vodafone site re the levels of subsidy offered when signing up for new data add on plans on 24 month terms, or new you choose plans, I feel considering you are getting less data/voice than what is on offer from the iphone plans an equivalent subsidy should be fair.

Or have I missed something here?

With the plan above the subsidy is $280, making the 16GB iPhone $849.90. The subsidy isn't as good as with an iPhone plan but I think the Choose 60 combo is far better.

As an aside, the stores only make $15 on the retail price once GST is accounted for. Couple that with a small Choose 60 commission and there isn't any room to bargain either.

And the 1gB plan vanishes from the VF page.

I'll make a guess that nobody in NZ was stupid enough to fall for it?

Or am I putting to much faith in the intelligence of my fellow countrymen?

The plan is still available - the plan is proving to be very popular and is now available on other phones beyond the iPhone. Now it's available on any device that supports it.
