Feck. $250/month? Sure, they're technically good value. But they're not going to attract many people with those sort of charges. That's just heinous. It really is. And I still can't get to the Vodafone website...

I've been watching the other thread since page 6.... This is absolutely ridiculous! $80 a month for 250mb? PLUS $549?! WHAT?! I wouldn't pay that if the phone was free! Who has $80 disposable income anymore? Petrol going up, food going up, and they offer this?! They can cram it up their ass!

This is absolute crap! Those plans are just a laugh.

$199 for the iPhone! What a joke! I just can't believe I was fooled again! I should have known.

So $80 a month AND practically a full price phone! What a joke.
Is ANYONE seriously gonna buy one now?
Sure it's um great value all those mins etc but for those of us who send 50-100 texts & maybe 1 call a month, it doesn't help!
Maybe I'll get a 1st gen iphone.... seems no point in the 3g one really for that price

Yep, those plans are bollocks.... oh well, at least I don't have to wait up till midnight on Thursday and spend a couple of hours looking at:

Network Timeout

The operation timed out when attempting to contact www.vodafone.co.nz.

I bet the highest bidder of that TradeMe queue trader is spitting tacks now Laughing

Wow that really is some serious cr*p by Vodafone.  Did someone mention sexual violence in the other thread?  Maybe I'd prefer to expose my buttocks than pay those plans?

reefshipping: That is definately a pathetic offering...

250mb is jack all, and they ANYONE will pay $250 a month for 1gb data?

Would you really use more than 250mb a month?? I mean most of the time wouldn't you be using wifi at home/work/uni?
250 is fine for checking yr emails and browsing some pages when not near wifi

250MB is jack all if you're downloading torrents and stuff, 250MB is quite a bit on mobile. Unless you're planning on streaming video/music on your iphone the 250MB should be ok for mail, some web browsing and google maps.

Oh dear, Vodafone.

Geekzone is holding up slightly better.  Maurice, I hope you're paying by the pipe, and not the GB ;-)

I did try and dampen people's expectations, but as everyone now knows, this would be pretty difficult considering what we're looking at.

As for the reasons why, I wrote my thoughts here:  http://mothership.co.nz/blog/index.php/2008/07/08/iphone-rate-plans/

What I don't understand is that you can buy a 3GB 3G plan for $79-95 plus $10 for an EXTRA 3GB, then have You Choose for $39-95, and so have 6GB of data plus free minutes for only $130.  If you buy a iPhone 3G outright I think you would be better getting these plans.

$250/month = $6,000 over two years!!!

Or am I missing something?

What a surprise. Maybe we should all jst not even turn up for the event.

and log a claim that they are just sh*tting themselves if they think people are willing to pay that much for nothing.

I wasnt expecting anything good from vodafone, but i didnt expect them to pull a deadly stunt like this.
I tell you what, im actually waiting for telecom to come out now.
