Just swapped out our office router to a new one, and now Vodafone is issuing a dynamic IP for our broadband connection rather than the Static IP we used to have.

Been on hold now for over 30 mins so I wonder if something has happened, we are getting internet service but a number of services we connect to depend on our Static as the source.

It now appears the migration process from "old system" to "new system" means that services get left off. For us it means that the PSTN line and Static IP address we had allocated to us were not migrated so they were disconnected.

Edit: Updated subject of the post to reflect this was the result of an account migration due to us ordering new services in another city.

UFB?

If so then set WAN MAC to match existing Router and it will come back, or wait for the lease to expire.

I have a client that frequently looses there static IP ( something to do with some numbers on the DHCP server at Vodafone, they have had this happen four or five times in just over a year, it is quite frustrating for all )

Try turning off the router for five minutes and turning back on again ( we have to do this occasionally to get the IP back )

Didnt voda drop the ability for static IP's and just build the option of dynamic IP's with an unlimited lease instead?

For some reason our provisioned IP was dropped.

The 10 min leases time didn't fix it.

Took almost two hours on the phone for Vodafone to sort but they eventually did.

Very relieved he managed to fix it especially since I built the stack for Spark I know exactly what goes into it.

This is pretty much situation normal with Vodafone. 30 minutes would be fast service.

And today when I got in this morning I found out our VoIP office number has been deprovisioned from the SIP Gateway for some reason and I don't know how long it has been down for since we don't use it very often.

Status-Line: SIP/2.0 404 Not found

Been bounced via a few teams and being disconnected. On hold for 45+ mins so far. Thanks Vodafone.

Whats worse? Having a static IP and getting charged $23 per month extra, when it should be $8, so having to ring them every month to get the discount reloaded, OR just using a dynamicDNS provider?

I am thinking my VF static IP is too much of a head ache for me, having to ring every month.. about to call them to remove the static IP... (plug: I have found afraid.org fantastic as my dynaDNS provider!)

While DynDNS of various flavors is all well and good it won't work for the customers we talk to who lock access down to an IP Address not a DNS name.

Now it appears for whatever reason the Wellington connection was migrated to a new system since we requested a new UFB connection in Auckland. As part of the migration our PSTN and Static IP services were left off the migration and were disconnected.
