timmmay: That's a weird limitation.

I can imagine someone at fritz central going:

WAN = 1gbit

4x LAN = 400mbps

WIFI = another 150mbps

which is significant, but darn annoying if you have just the one device connected that is gig capable.

For his next trick, I'm sure @solaybro will try to get sustained gig speeds from Vodafone during the day...

Probably 3 years ago now the WiFi Alliance renamed the WiFi standards. What was known as 802.11ax in it's draft form became known as WiFi 6, 802.11ac became known as WiFi5, and 802.11n became known as WiFi4

Gordy7: The 7390 appears to have a max LAN speed of 100Mbps.
So you won't get fibre max (1000Mbps) through put.

7390 will do gig, but it starts to hit struggling points if you try to do too much more with it.

Which is a band not allowable here, so it may end up like with the dect phone imports where they screw over some other service and will get you hunted down.

Can confirm that 7390 definitely did 1Gb/s, but you need to specifically enable it in the settings as posted above.

@Linus I am not using a Vodafone router because I don't have one. I am looking at getting a new one and I want to get one with Wifi 6. I don't think the Vodafone one has this.

It also appears @Gordy7 is correct. I can't get gigabit with this router. It's maximum speed is 100/100.

I guess this matter is resolved now. Thanks everyone for the help.

I have been provided a router by @michaelmurfy which has resolved my poor WiFi speeds. I'm hitting 300-450 download from across the house and 700 when standing next to it.
