Turns out its not even available under the sim settings.

Unless that only appears as an option when it's low too

I was without any signal for a bit last night. But will double check when near an open AP outside of fort knox

I have a feeling my phone didn't have it when I got it, but it updated at some point and then Wi-fi calling was available.

We have been scratching our heads about supported Samsung headsets which are in the Vodafone supported list. Up until now wifi calling hasn't shown up in the settings.

Our S10 Ultra 5G just got Android 12 UI 4 today and WiFi calling appeared in the settings menu.

For anyone who doesn't have Wifi calling active on a Samsung it seems that Android 12 will deliver this.

Cheers, Matt

My new device is Nov updates. Which predate when it was added. So perhaps I may be blessed soon too despite a diff manufacturer

What I was afraid might happen after updating to Android 12 has happened, the update 'broke' wifi calling on my VF S20U.

It is now showing VoLTE even when connected to WiFi, before the update, when connected to WiFi, it shows WiFi calling then switching to VoLTE when out and about.

It is behaving exactly the same way as my wife's ZFold 3. Frustrating to say the least!

silly question - does this work for incoming calls too.. ? I get little to no vodafone reception at my house and I enabled wifi calling on my work phone today.. outbound calls now work perfect anywhere on the property.. but I had two dropped incoming calls mid convo due to no coverage this afternoon?

one thing I thought was strange is that it shows my wifi calling symbol and regular cell signal symbol beside it [one or no bars]

when I was using the old vofafone sure signal it showed it was connected to sure signal and had full bars

phone is a galaxy s20, have tried rebooting since enabling, reseating the sim and made sure its fully up to date

edit: oh just read up.. :) looks like someone else is having the same problem on the latest version :/

You're better off throwing the devices into Airplane mode and only turning on WiFi. This will only allow VoWiFi to work until you turn off Airplane mode. It's not a great work around but it's better than calls dropping off or VoWiFi straight up dropping.

Additional trouble shooting step for all. If you have a 2d SIM lying around can you test both VoWiFi and VoLTE enabled on 2d and see if the same behaviour is observed. @NickR1 possible to get some insight/let appropriate team know? Seems to be specifically Android 12 that's broken things on devices that are eligible.

Working from home so that's a perfect [temporary] solution for now - just tested and all working

Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Oppo find x3 lite pushed ColorOS 12 tonight

Wifi calling enabled after a carrier services permission request change

In the lounge it needs airplane toggled. In bedroom where suresignal was, 1 bar or less it auto kicks in.
Good result, less oncall stress and straight to vm moans hopefully

Wait. This is the same behaviour as Samsung.

VoWiFi should be prioritized over VoLTE. This should not be the case.
You should not have to use airplane mode to force VoWiFi to take priority.

That's as designed. VoWiFi will kick in only if the phone can not reach the data center via mobile network.

On the other side, good that the X3 lite has received the ColorOS12. That means I can buy one for my wife.

I'd argue that its bad design. 2d has always prioritized it and so have many carriers around the world. You could be on the fringe of coverage and VoWiFi might not kick in when you want it to(you also may not notice it). Sure you could use airplane mode but then it's not seamless or will the regular user realise this bad design.

Also if you're on WiFi, it's going to be more reliable and have less latency then a on the fringe LTE connection for VoLTE.
