TelstraClear has teamed with Auckland company e-cast to create a new internet TV service, “Ziln TV”, which will stream free from both clear.net.nz and ziln.co.nz.
e-cast told NBR that at its highest resolution (768Kbit/s) the TV service would see around 300MB an hour of data stream over a person’s internet connection. That would mean many people could exhaust their monthly data cap in a day. However, TelstraClear is accessing whether to “zero-rate” Ziln’s data, meaning it wouldn’t count toward a monthly cap.
The channel line up consist mainly of news channels, but I'm impressed :)
Not sure if Ziln is new or not, but this article is about TelstraClear *possibly* zero-rating data to Ziln. Suppose Orcon could follow suit, and include it in its O Zone thing.
