This is not necessarily an issue with my Vodafone naked broadband but it may be.

For the last ~11 days, my router(s) sync with the exchange fine, but the maximum attainable sync rates slowly decline over a < 3-hour period, eventually going below or close to my actual sync rate, resulting in my router disconnecting, with data sometimes stalling for a few seconds here and there just before unsyncing.

Chorus has been to my flat twice. They did a bit of work on my phone jack but say my line is fine, it must be Vodafone. Their own router disconnects like mine. We've tried two of my own routers, different phone cords, but no luck. There's no alarm nor Sky.

On Vodafone's end, they've tried me on different "stable" profiles. Interleaving's on, sync rates are much lower than I usually get, but the problem persists.

At this point, Vodafone says everything's fine on their end. Chorus says everything's fine on my end.
Vodafone's getting a third Chorus tech to look at this tomorrow...

My max upload rate always seems to be lower than my current upload rate. Max downstream's normally ~1mbps higher than my current rate and then it slowly degenerates.

Normally I sync @ 9.2mbps but it's lower right now due to my slower/stable profile at the moment:

Any ideas?

Are you on the Red Network or Telecom Wholesale?

You're address isn't in the process of being cabinetised is it?

Uses the normal phone jack, no filters (since it's naked broadband), but I have tried filters too, no difference. Done isolation tests a few times.

Cabinetisation: I'm not sure. How do I find out?

Just to add... On a couple of occasions, my connection's stayed stable for ~24 hours but no longer. Like, last week it did this once. No idea why. And right now it's been going good for 14 hours. Didn't disconnect last night at all. Yet two nights ago, it disconnected roughly 10 times. It's really random :(

Chorus tech just turned up. I forgot to ask about the cabinetisation, but honestly the tech did nothing except check the line from his end, then popped in, I told him the above, and he reckons it's Vodafone still, and then left. He gives me a 24-hour window to ring his mobile if it disconnects, but after that he just says to ring Vodafone, and then Vodafone just lodges another fault and it repeats. It's a horrible cycle Undecided

You need to look at the www.telecomwholesale.co.nz/maps page to look at your address. Look at the cabinetisation schedule if your area looks like it want further details.

If you are being cabinetised you will have to move back from the Red Network to Telecom Wholesale since Vodafone don't locate any gear in cabinets.

Ta. Says I just have ADSL2+ from the exchange right now. ADSL2+ and VDSL2 cabinets are slated for April 2011.

Where are you? Im also due for a cabinet in april, but they are already doing wiring in the new cabinet down the road from me and I have had the odd occasion that I have had low syncs and some disconnects. Flatmate hasnt complained about anything with his connection at all yet.

White Swan Rd, Mt Roskill. Come to think of it, there was some construction going on recently around a cabinet on Richardson Rd so maybe that has something to do with it? But still, Chorus reckons everything's fine...?

I doubt they even went to the cabinet to check to be honest. I think that the not using telecom wholesale gear just gives them such an easy excuse to fob the job off to someone else.
