hi my firend has a toshiba laptop that has thegt 630m graphics card

He wants to install the latest graphics driver from nvida. it comes up with no vaild hardware.

i tried altering the inf file to include the hardware ID, the driver isntalled but his games only showed the intel cpu graphics driver.

the model of the toshiba is

pspkba-o5foou

its like they have not included the hardware id of the graphics chip in the inf file of the hardware. dont know enough about the inf files to midify it to make it work.

help would be apreaciated

gzt: maybe it is a model with intel graphics and no 630m.

how do you know it has 630m?

has it in bios and device manager. When in a game like skyrim/steam when you use the driver from the toshiba website it says you are using the 630m

it has the intel/'onboard" graphics also switches to that to save power.

long story short looks like nvidia have not included the hardware id for this chip in there driver even though the auto detect on the nvida site tells you that the graphics card you have is the 630m

when you isntall the driver/software no compatibale hardware found error.

when i modify the inf to include the 630m it installs the driver and software but card does not work correctly most likly because i did not modify the inf file correctly

help on modifying the inf file would be good thanks

Direct links to the toshiba product support page and the nvidia driver page would help.

So would pastes of both the unmodified toshiba driver install infs and nvidia infs on something like pastebin.

It takes a long time to search and download etc but anyone can look if you provide links and use those services.

Forgot to ask, why does your friend want to install the nvidia driver?
