Downloaded the basic Safari package (excl the QuickTime add-on) last night. Very smooth install on XP Pro. Loads pages very fast (faster than my usual Firefox). Default gui overall is good albeit a little dark (metallic grey with bold font). Yet to run extensive Java / Flash etc through it but overall very pleased with it. for me - pushes the crap IE 7 further down the list...

There's a discussion already going on here...

As for pushing IE 7 out of the mix... You realise this is beta? It's not working with Proxy servers, and some AJAX applications are not working at all (NewsGator comes to mind). Also, Safari is known for not being too standards compliant - Firefox is way better on this aspect.
