oh f*** but thats confussing because it says it's activated. the restore cd has windows xp2 i would be happy to go on that but it doesn't work i don't have the money to buy a new os not after the money i spent on it what now?. i hope im allowed to put swer words. on geekzone as long as they are masked
It means the Windows Vista is activated - but not legitimately. Someone used a tool to go around the activation requirement, which means probably it was a pirate copy of Windows Vista. So as it says, after repair the copy will be deactivated and you will need a valid key.
If you have Windows XP then you can reinstall that one - a valid CD key should be on a sticker under your laptop. If it's a valid OEM license and the CD is a valid OEM CD then it should install ok...
vista was on it when got it. and the windows xp sp2 is just a restore cd and when i use it it says restore factory defaults? i push next. this is when i boot up from the cd it does it's thing but then it doesn't reboot and then when you kill the power. and restart it just says it has an error with a black screen. no options apart from reboot which when you press any key it will not reboot
